With three new monitors in 1440p, AGON by AOC shows that high refresh rates are no longer a privilege of the upper class. The latest models of the G4 and G42 series are aimed at demanding gamers who value fast response times, sharp images and versatile features – without breaking the budget. The highlights: 300 Hz in the 24.5-inch format and up to 260 Hz in two new 27-inch variants.

  • QHD resolution (2560 × 1440) with refresh rates of 240-300 Hz
  • Fast IPS panel with response times of up to 0.3 ms MPRT
  • DisplayHDR 400, Shadow Control, Game Color, Low Input Lag
  • Ergonomic features, HDMI 2.1/2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4

Compact 24.5-inch display with 300 Hz: Q25G4SR as a performance tip

With the Q25G4SR, AOC brings a rare representative to the market: a 24.5-inch gaming monitor with QHD resolution and 300 Hz refresh rate. This results in a pixel density of almost 120 ppi – sharper than classic Full HD panels in the same format and ideal for competitive gameplay with maximum clarity. The built-in Fast IPS panel not only impresses with its viewing angle stability, but also with response times of up to 0.3 ms MPRT – supported by “Motion Blur Reduction” for a razor-sharp motion display.

The model also scores with DisplayHDR 400, two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4 – future-proof for PC and console gamers alike. The ergonomic stand allows height adjustment, pivot and tilt, making it ideal for longer sessions or creative setups. The Q25G4SR thus shows that compactness and performance do not have to be mutually exclusive.

Two 27-inch models with 240-260 Hz: plenty of choice for every requirement

For users who prefer a larger panel, AOC offers two variants in 27-inch format: the Q27G4ZR and the more affordable Q27G42ZE. Both offer a refresh rate of 240 Hz, which can be overclocked to 260 Hz. Both models are therefore aimed at gamers looking for a fast and smooth gaming experience – without having to compromise on resolution.

The Q27G4ZR comes with a complete equipment package: DisplayHDR 400, 2W speakers, a fully ergonomic stand, and a peak brightness of 400 cd/m² make it an ideal all-round solution. The cheaper Q27G42ZE makes targeted savings on features, but not on performance: same panel, same response times, but with slightly reduced features (only tiltable, 300 cd/m² brightness, no HDR or speakers). This targeted differentiation makes it attractive for price-conscious users who focus on function instead of bells and whistles.

Functions that make the difference in the game

All three monitors feature AOC’s proven gaming toolkit: Shadow Control brings out details in dark gaming scenes, Game Colour allows precise color adjustments, and Dial Point provides a central crosshair for competitive aiming. Low Input Lag technology minimizes the delay between input and display – a crucial factor in FPS and MOBA titles. Thanks to Fast IPS technology, rich colors and stable viewing angles are also guaranteed.

With their frameless design, matt black finish and red accents, the monitors also blend into any gaming setup. The flat stand allows for flexible mouse and keyboard positioning, while the integrated cable management keeps things tidy. With VESA mount (100×100), all three devices are also suitable for wall or arm mounting.

Conclusion

With the new monitors of the G4 and G42 series, AOC offers a convincing combination of performance, features and price-performance ratio. From the 300 Hz powerhouse in 24.5-inch format to the affordable 27-inch version with high-speed panel, there is a suitable option for almost every requirement and budget.
