IFA 2025 in Berlin is bringing exciting developments in the smart home sector, and one company is attracting particular interest: Aqara. The IoT pioneer is presenting a whole range of new products and functions designed to make the home smarter, safer and more energy-efficient. With a focus on “spatial intelligence”, Aqara shows how AI-supported automation systems not only respond to commands, but can also anticipate and respond to user needs – both in private homes and in offices, hotels or public buildings.

  • G400 doorbell camera: AI-supported monitoring with 2K resolution and flexible power supply
  • Radiator thermostat W600: Energy efficiency with Thread and Zigbee support and up to two years of battery life
  • Hub M200: Central multi-protocol hub for Matter, Thread, Zigbee and IR devices
  • Updates for Aqara Home & HomeGuardian: Improved automations, AI-supported recognition and voice control

Security through intelligent sensor technology

One of the highlights is the new G400 doorbell camera, which is wired and designed for permanent outdoor use thanks to its 2K sensor and IP65 certification. With PoE or low-voltage power supply for flexible installation, it offers advanced functions such as face, parcel and vehicle detection – both locally and via the cloud. Integration into common platforms such as Apple Home (incl. HomeKit Secure Video), Alexa, Google Home or SmartThings ensures open interfaces and easy integration into the existing smart home ecosystem.

In addition to the G400, Aqara gives a preview of upcoming products. The G510 camera, the manufacturer’s first battery-powered outdoor cam, is particularly striking: it is equipped with a solar panel, 10,400 mAh battery and 2.5K video resolution and also supports local AI recognition. The M410 Home Station, which acts as an extended security center, will also be presented. It serves as a storage and connectivity hub, extends the battery life of cameras and provides Matter support so that devices from different manufacturers can work better together.

Focus on energy efficiency

With the W600 radiator thermostat, Aqara brings intelligent temperature control to the fore. Equipped with Thread and Zigbee, it works with the latest smart home standards and enables precise control via schedules, voice assistants or in combination with room thermostats. Particularly practical: a battery life of up to two years reduces maintenance costs, while broad compatibility with European valves makes it easy to use.

Aqara is also presenting new models in the H2 series – from wall sockets with USB-C fast charging function to IP44-certified outdoor sockets. Special emphasis is placed on energy monitoring so that users can analyze consumption and reduce it in a targeted manner through automation. Matter and Thread compatibility ensures long-term future-proofing, a detail that is particularly important in Europe.

Networking with Matter and AI

The M200 hub will be at the heart of networking in the future. As a Matter controller, Thread border router and Zigbee bridge, it acts as an all-rounder for a wide range of devices. Whether smart lights, heaters or even IR-based devices such as televisions or air conditioning systems – thanks to the integrated 360° IR blaster, even older systems can be seamlessly integrated into the smart home. Aqara clearly positions the M200 as an interface for universal interoperability.

Aqara is also continuing to develop on the software side: the Aqara Home platform has been given enhanced presence detection with functions such as the Soft Sensor and enhanced logic control based on the WHEN-IF-THEN principle with Automation 2.0. Particularly exciting for power users is the new option to control devices locally via LAN – which not only reduces the response time, but also ensures full smart home functionality in the event of an internet outage.

At the same time, the HomeGuardian cloud service is expanding its AI functions and enables proactive hazard detection, including the detection of flames via vision-language models. In future, video content can be searched and summarized using voice commands – a feature that represents a significant leap forward in terms of user-friendliness.

Conclusion

Aqara is using IFA 2025 to show how spatial intelligence and AI can lead the smart home into a new era. With new devices such as the G400 doorbell, the W600 thermostat, the versatile H2 series and the M200 hub, the company is consistently expanding its portfolio. The combination of energy efficiency, security and cross-platform networking should be particularly exciting for many households. Prices and the market launch of most devices were not yet mentioned in detail at the trade fair, but the first products such as the W600 thermostat and the G400 should be available in European stores from the fall. Aqara thus remains a driving force in the smart home environment – well positioned for the requirements of the coming years.
