gamescom 2025 is traditionally a showcase for the latest developments in the gaming industry – and ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) took the opportunity to impressively underline its innovative strength. Under the motto “Unlock the ROG Lab”, the company presented a wide range of new products in Cologne. The focus was on the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090, which is being released as a special limited edition to mark 30 years of ASUS graphics cards, as well as a new generation of tandem OLED monitors that are setting new standards worldwide. The line-up was complemented by an external GPU docking station, a versatile controller, a premium gaming chair and a WiFi 7 router. This shows just how broad ROG’s portfolio has become – from graphics cards to routers.

  • ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090: Limited 30th anniversary edition with NVIDIA Blackwell and DLSS 4

  • New ROG OLED monitors with tandem technology: Up to 540 Hz, longer lifespan, TrueBlack Glossy

  • ROG XG Station 3: Thunderbolt 5 GPU docking station for laptops

  • ROG Raikiri II Xbox Wireless Controller: Anti-drift, tri-mode connectivity, pro features

  • ROG Courser gaming chair & Strix GS-BE7200 router: Comfort and high-speed networking for modern setups

ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090: 30th anniversary graphics card

The absolute highlight was the unveiling of the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090, which is being released in a limited edition to mark the 30th anniversary of ASUS graphics cards. The card is based on the new NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and combines raw computing power with the latest AI features from NVIDIA. With DLSS 4, frame rates can be multiplied, while NVIDIA Studio and NIM microservices also accelerate creative applications and AI workflows.

In terms of technology, ASUS has done everything that enthusiasts expect:

  • Quad fan design for 20% more airflow and higher pressure

  • Patented Vapor Chamber with milled heatspreader and all-copper cover for maximum heat dissipation

  • Liquid metal thermal compound for more efficient cooling and higher boost clock speeds

  • 3-ounce copper layer on the PCB for stabilization under high load

  • Memory defroster for extreme LN2 overclocking

  • 800-watt power limit via the ASUS Advanced BTF motherboard slot and 12V 2×6 cable

  • Aura Lighting for individual RGB synchronization

The card is manufactured using the Auto-Extreme process, which should ensure maximum precision and reliability. At the same time, ASUS presented the “Project Citadel” casemod, which presents the GPU in a futuristic system design. An anniversary competition for the Matrix RTX 5090 accompanied the market launch and attracted additional attention.

Tandem OLED monitors: peak brightness and longer service life

ASUS ROG has established itself as the leading manufacturer of OLED gaming monitors in recent years and is further expanding this position with the new generation. Thanks to tandem OLED technology, the models offer 15% higher peak brightness, 25% greater color volume and up to 60% longer lifespan compared to classic WOLED panels. This is complemented by the proprietary TrueBlack Glossy coating and the Neo Proximity Sensor, which reduces burn-in effects.

ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W

With 540 Hz at QHD resolution, the 26.5-inch monitor is currently the fastest OLED monitor in the world. It supports VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black, covers 99.5% of the DCI-P3 color space and offers true 10-bit color depth. With DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20) and HDMI 2.1, it is ideally equipped for high-end PCs and consoles. Its dual mode allows either QHD@540Hz or HD@720Hz – ideal for competitive e-sports gaming.

ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG

The sister model comes with 280 Hz and the same tandem OLED panel, but in a more compact housing with a new stand. In addition to DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC) and HDMI 2.1, it offers USB hub functionality.

ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2

The Gen 2 version uses a WOLED panel with 240 Hz and 0.03 ms response time. With VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black, 99% DCI-P3 coverage and an improved TrueBlack glossy coating, it offers a very good balance between price and performance.

ASUS thus covers both the ultra-high-end segment and the broader market for OLED gamers.

ROG XG Station 3: External GPU docking station

The ROG XG Station 3 is an exciting product for mobile gamers and creatives. Laptops can be equipped with external RTX 50 graphics power via Thunderbolt 5. With 80 Gbit/s bandwidth, the docking station enables high-end gaming, rendering and AI workflows on mobile systems.

The station also functions as an extended docking solution:

  • Three USB-C ports with up to 10 Gbit/s

  • ASUS Aura Sync lighting

  • BTF design with hidden ports for neat cable management

Transforms an Ultrabook or notebook into a powerful desktop system in no time at all.

Accessories for gamers: controller, chair and router

In addition to graphics and displays, there was also exciting hardware from the peripherals and accessories sector:

  • ROG Raikiri II Xbox Wireless: a controller with tri-mode connectivity (USB-C, 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth), anti-drift joysticks, programmable back buttons and microswitch buttons. The scope of delivery includes a charging stand, protective cover and additional joystick caps. The battery life is up to 30 hours.

  • ROG Courser gaming chair: With Dynamic Synchronized Recline, adjustable lumbar support, 4D armrests and magnetic headrest, it focuses on comfort and ergonomics. Concealed RGB lighting gives it the typical ROG character.
  • ROG Strix GS-BE7200 Router: A WiFi 7-enabled router with up to 7200 Mbps speed, 5T5R antenna configuration for 15% more 5 GHz throughput and gaming-optimized SSID. It also offers AiMesh support, integrated VPN services and extensive security features. The minimalist design with transparent surface sets it apart from conventional routers.
