ANGA COM 2025 brings a series of exciting premieres for all those who rely on maximum performance and future security for home networks. AVM, one of the leading providers of network technology from Germany, is presenting new FRITZ!Box models and repeaters that are particularly impressive with support for Wi-Fi 7, fiber optic standards up to 10 Gbit/s and intelligent mesh solutions. The new portfolio is therefore aimed at households with high demands in terms of speed, stability and range.
Brief overview:
- New FRITZ!Box models for fiber optics (XGS-PON, AON, GPON) and DSL with Wi-Fi 7
- Repeater highlights with Wi-Fi 7 and outdoor-capable WLAN amplifier
- Premiere for new mesh sets with easy setup and high performance
- Preview of FRITZ!OS 8.20 with improved failure protection for Internet connections
High-speed for fiber optics: FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS and more
With the FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS, AVM is launching a new top model for XGS-PON fiber optic connections that allows transmission rates of up to 10 GBit/s. The router is not only interesting for providers, but also offers end users with high requirements a strong basis for their home network. With Wi-Fi 7 (4×4) on 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz, the model transmits at up to 5,760 Mbit/s and 1,376 Mbit/s respectively – ideal for data-intensive applications such as cloud gaming, 4K streaming or large file transfers.
In addition to the flagship model, AVM is also presenting the FRITZ!Box 5690 and 4690, further variants for fiber optic connections that can be used flexibly both directly on the fiber and behind a fiber optic modem (ONT). All models are equipped with a 10 Gbit/s WAN/LAN port, DECT telephony, smart home functionality and a USB 3.0 port. This means that the fiber optic network can also be used efficiently in the home – both technically and in terms of convenience.
DSL modernized: Wi-Fi 7 comes in a compact form
AVM is launching two new DSL routers with Wi-Fi 7 for users without a fiber optic connection: The FRITZ!Box 7630 as a compact model with Supervectoring 35b (up to 300 MBit/s) and the more powerful FRITZ!Box 7632 with G.fast support (up to 1 GBit/s). Both routers use Wi-Fi 7 (2×2) and thus offer a bandwidth of up to 2,880 MBit/s on 5 GHz – a significant leap compared to previous Wi-Fi 6 models.
Like their fiber optic counterparts, these routers are also equipped with 2.5 Gbit/s WAN/LAN connections, USB 3.0 and comprehensive telephony support. This means that DSL users can also benefit from the latest Wi-Fi standards and equip their home network for the coming years.
Mesh & Repeater: Making Wi-Fi 7 available everywhere
Strong Wi-Fi doesn’t end at the door – AVM ensures this with its new repeaters. Particularly noteworthy is the FRITZ! repeater 2700 with 4×4 Wi-Fi 7 on 5 GHz, which delivers up to 5,760 Mbps. The smaller FRITZ! repeater 1700 also offers Wi-Fi 7, but in a more compact form. Both repeaters can be easily paired with existing routers via WPS – even across manufacturers.
The FRITZ!Repeater 1610 Outdoor makes its debut for outdoor use. With Wi-Fi 6, PoE+ and IP54 protective housing, it is ideal for the garden, patio or garage. Power is supplied via Ethernet (PoE), which allows flexible placement without a power socket.
The new line-up is complemented by two mesh sets: The FRITZ!Mesh Set 4200 relies on a powerful repeater (3000 AX) with Wi-Fi 6, while the Set 1600 addresses smaller homes. Both variants are easy to set up via app and are factory-tuned as a package solution.
FRITZ!OS 8.20 brings failure protection and more control
In addition to the hardware, AVM will also be presenting the upcoming FRITZ!OS 8.20 operating system at ANGA COM. One of the most important new features is failure protection: If the main connection via DSL, cable or fiber optics is interrupted, a second FRITZ!Box automatically takes over the connection via mobile radio – a function that is particularly important for home offices, streaming or online gaming.
Another highlight is the integration of the User Service Platform (TR-369), which allows providers to make Wi-Fi management more transparent and efficient. This brings benefits for both end customers and technical support.
Conclusion
AVM’s presentation at ANGA COM underlines its role as a driver of innovation in the home network sector. The new FRITZ!Box models and repeaters combine the latest standards such as Wi-Fi 7 and fiber optics up to 10 GBit/s with proven operation and high compatibility. Whether DSL or fiber optic, apartment or house, indoors or outdoors – there is now a suitable solution for almost every application scenario. Prices and market launches will follow shortly, some devices are already available from providers.
