With the PT1, Hisense is launching a new ultra-short throw projector that is particularly suitable for home cinema enthusiasts with limited space. Despite its compact design, the device promises impressive image sizes and high-quality color reproduction – with minimal installation effort. The projector uses modern laser technology to deliver razor-sharp images in 4K resolution and is also ideally equipped for gaming and smart TV applications.

  • 150-inch projection at a distance of just 49 cm from the wall (100 inches at 18.3 cm)
  • 4K via pixel shifting, 2,500 ANSI lumens brightness, 60 Hz with UHD
  • Triple laser with 110% BT.2020 color space coverage and Harman Kardon sound
  • VIDAA U7.6 smart TV platform with AirPlay 2, Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced

Cinema experience in the smallest of spaces

The Hisense PT1 belongs to the class of ultra-short throw projectors, also known as “laser TVs”, and is designed for easy placement directly in front of the projection surface. With a projection ratio of 0.2:1, a distance of just 18.3 centimeters is sufficient for a screen diagonal of 100 inches. A maximum of 150 inches is possible at around 49 centimeters – ideal for large images in living rooms without a lot of floor space.

The picture quality benefits from a triple laser engine that covers 110% of the extended BT.2020 color space. With a color accuracy of Delta E ≈ 0.9, the PT1 delivers true-to-life color reproduction that should also impress cinephiles. The native brightness is 2,500 ANSI lumens, which means that the device can also be used in less darkened rooms. Thanks to a native contrast ratio of 3,000:1 and support for Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced, the PT1 is suitable for detailed HDR content.

The 4K resolution is achieved by means of pixel shifting. The picture sharpness remains high, even if it is not technically a native 4K display. However, users must note that higher frame rates are possible at lower resolutions – at 4K, the frame rate is 60 Hz. The PT1 is still suitable for gaming: According to the manufacturer, the input delay in gaming mode is a maximum of 30 milliseconds.

All-in-one system for modern media use

Inside the PT1 is the latest version of the in-house smart TV system VIDAA U7.6, which allows popular streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ or YouTube to be used directly – an external player is not absolutely necessary. The system also supports AirPlay 2, which enables convenient integration into the smart home, especially for users of Apple devices. Voice assistants can also be integrated.

The built-in sound system comes from Harman Kardon and promises powerful sound for an immersive movie experience – so a separate speaker system is not absolutely necessary. The PT1 also offers advantages for long-term users: The service life of the laser light source is specified as up to 25,000 hours, which guarantees several years of operation even with regular use.

Set-up is largely intuitive thanks to automatic adjustment aids such as keystone correction and focus adjustment. With a weight of around 11.6 kilograms, the device is mobile enough to also be used for temporary setups.

Conclusion

The Hisense PT1 brings a real home cinema feeling even to smaller rooms – with sharp 4K projection, vivid colors and extensive smart functions. The projector impresses with its strong picture quality, fast operational readiness and a high-quality integrated sound system. For €2,499, the PT1 offers an attractive overall package for anyone who wants a great picture without complicated installation. The projector is now available in stores.
