With the VIVE Eagle, HTC presents wearable AI glasses that combine technology and lifestyle. The model combines music playback, voice assistance, intelligent camera features and real-time translation in a lightweight, fashionable frame. The aim is to make everyday tasks more intuitive while offering a fashionable accessory. The glasses are initially available exclusively in Taiwan and set new standards for smart wearables.
- 49 g lightweight design with ZEISS sunglasses lenses and UV protection
- 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with voice-controlled AI functions
- Open-ear design with rich sound and virtual bass amplification
- AI translation in 13 languages directly via the glasses camera
Technological all-rounder in a minimalist frame
The VIVE Eagle shows that smart glasses don’t have to look futuristic or bulky. With a weight of less than 49 grams and a simple frame, they fit inconspicuously into everyday life. Adjustable nose pads and ergonomically shaped temples ensure comfort for hours on end, while the ZEISS sunglasses lenses offer full UV protection.

Powerful technology lies beneath the elegant surface: an AI-enabled processor enables voice commands for music control, calls, photography and translations. The integrated 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera is controlled by the “VIVE AI” voice assistant, which can access OpenAI GPT and Google Gemini, among others. A command such as “Hey VIVE, take a photo” is enough to take pictures or videos from a first-person perspective. An LED display ensures transparency when recordings are in progress – an important feature for privacy in public spaces.
Audio experience with open-ear design
The open-ear design of the VIVE Eagle combines large drivers with virtual bass amplification, so that music, podcasts or calls are reproduced clearly without blocking the ear canal. This design offers several advantages: The ears remain open to ambient noise, which increases safety in road traffic or public areas, and at the same time the sound remains private – passers-by cannot hear. Even in noisy environments, the content should remain clearly understandable, a crucial point for use in the city or when traveling.
The audio output is supplemented by AI-supported translations: texts recorded with the camera can be translated and read aloud in real time in 13 languages, including German, English, Chinese, French and Japanese. This function makes the glasses particularly interesting for travelers and international work assignments.
Suitable for everyday use with a powerful battery and data protection
With a 235 mAh battery, the VIVE Eagle offers up to 36 hours of standby time or around 4.5 hours of continuous music playback. Thanks to magnetic fast charging, a 10-minute charge is sufficient for up to 50 % capacity. For longer periods of use, the glasses can be charged using a power bank or smartphone in pass-through mode.
HTC takes a clear approach to data protection: all user data is stored locally, is not used for AI training and is protected by AES-256 encryption. When external AI services are integrated, data is anonymized. VIVE AI is also aiming for ISO 27001 and 27701 certifications – a strong signal in the direction of data security.
Conclusion
With the VIVE Eagle, HTC is launching AI glasses on the market that combine technological innovation and lifestyle design. It offers camera, audio and translation functions in an ultra-light frame and places particular emphasis on privacy. Priced at TWD 15,600, it is now available for pre-order in four colors in Taiwan, including two years of VIVE AI Plus for early buyers. From September 2025, it will also be available via selected mobile phone plans – a first step towards making AI even more present in everyday life.
