Huawei’s MateBook series has a new member. In China, the manufacturer has now unveiled the Huawei MateBook GT14, a new ultrabook that is particularly handy, but should also have enough power for gaming thanks to the eGPU dock.
Huawei MateBook GT14 in detail
The 310.5 mm wide and 15.3 mm high Huawei MateBook GT14 weighs just 1.49 kg and features a 14.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,920 pixels, a frame rate of 144 Hz and a brightness of up to 1,000 nits.
The ultrabook is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, which combines six performance cores with eight efficiency cores and clock speeds of up to 5.1 GHz. It also has up to 32 GB of RAM and 2 terabytes of system memory.

The graphics calculation is done via an Intel Arc iGPU, but there is also a matching eGPU dock, which is connected via Thunderbolt 4 and with which the ultrabook should also be suitable for gaming.
Connections and features
In terms of connections, the compact Huawei MateBook GT14 is well equipped. In addition to Thunderbolt 4, there is one USB-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, a 3.5 mm jack and an SD card reader.
The keyboard comes in full size with backlighting and offers a key travel of 1.5 mm. Huawei has equipped the MateBook with two speakers and two microphones.

There is also a 1,080p webcam, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The battery has a capacity of 70 Wh and can be charged with up to 140 watts. The eGPU dock also supplies the notebook with 100 watts.
Price and availability
The Huawei MateBook GT14 is currently only listed on the manufacturer’s Chinese website. It starts at a price of 7,499 yuan, which corresponds to around 960 euros. In the top configuration with Core Ultra , 32 GB RAM and 2 TB system memory, it is priced at 10,999 yuan (around 1,400 euros). Delivery is scheduled to start on August 10. It is not yet clear when the notebook will be available in Germany.
