With the HyperX ProCast, HP’s gaming peripherals division has now also introduced a new, professional XLR microphone. It relies on a cardioid characteristic and features a gold-coated large-diaphragm condenser capsule.

HyperX ProCast: What’s in the new XLR microphone

After Elgato with the Wave DX (our review), a new XLR microphone awaits you with the HyperX ProCast, which is primarily aimed at professional users. In addition to the cardioid characteristic, the model convinces with a gold-coated large-diaphragm condenser capsule that is supposed to deliver excellent audio quality.

The microphone is designed specifically for streamers, influencers and content creators who require the highest possible quality and relies on an XLR connector, which of course requires an appropriate audio interface.

The ProCast captures detailed recordings thanks to its gold-coated large-diaphragm condenser capsule and uses the popular cardioid pickup pattern. A switchable -10 decibel PAD makes it possible for the microphone to handle loud audio sources, and an 80 hertz high-pass filter helps reduce unwanted low frequencies.

It also features a shock mount directly as well as a removable metal HyperX Shield pop filter, which is supposed to minimize unsightly ambient and noise. The mounting adapter fits both 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch threads and is compatible with most tripods and swing arms.

HyperX will be showing off the new ProCast microphone and many other peripherals at TwitchCon San Diego, October 7-9.
