With the CineBeam S (PU615U), LG is launching a new ultra-short throw projector worldwide that combines 4K resolution, high color precision and a compact design. The model complements the existing CineBeam series and is aimed at users who do not want to miss out on a large, brilliant image despite limited space. In particular, the combination of RGB laser technology and flexible installation options sets the CineBeam S apart from conventional devices.

  • Projection from a distance of just 8.1 cm – up to 100 inch screen diagonal
  • 4K resolution with RGB laser technology – 154% DCI-P3 color space coverage
  • 500 ANSI lumens & 450,000:1 contrast – detailed images day and night
  • Compact & mobile – only 1.9 kg weight, metal look, webOS integration

Large-screen projection in any living situation

The CineBeam S really comes into its own in cramped living spaces. While classic projectors usually require a distance of several meters from the screen, this model only needs 8.1 centimetres to produce a 40-inch image. At a distance of around 39 centimeters, the projection increases to an impressive 100 inches. This flexibility makes it ideal for small rooms, furnished living areas or even temporary set-ups, such as for movie nights or gaming sessions.

The technical basis is provided by a 4K UHD panel with a resolution of 3,840 × 2,160 pixels, supported by RGB laser technology – a first for LG. As a result, the projector covers 154% of the DCI-P3 color space and achieves a color brilliance that is particularly impressive with HDR content. The 500 ANSI lumens brightness and the high contrast ratio of 450,000:1 ensure that content is shown to its best advantage in both darkened and moderately bright environments.

Smart features for streaming, gaming and more

The CineBeam S is factory-equipped with LG’s webOS, which enables direct access to popular streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ or Prime Video – without the need for an external player. Content can be transferred wirelessly from a smartphone or laptop via AirPlay 2 and Screen Share. There are also modern connection options such as HDMI and two USB-C ports.

Dolby Atmos ensures good sound, creating a room-filling sound image with the right source. Setup is made easier with functions such as Auto Screen Adjustment, Screen Scaling & Shifting and wall color adjustment. This allows the projector to be adapted to walls of different colors even without a screen. It can be controlled either via the new remote control or the LG ThinQ app.

Weighing just 1.9 kilograms and with a modern metal-look design, the CineBeam S can also be used on the move – for presentations, movie nights in the garden or at the next gaming tournament with friends, for example.

Conclusion

The LG CineBeam S combines a compact design, high picture quality and smart functions in a device that creates a home cinema atmosphere even in the smallest of rooms. The RGB laser technology ensures impressive colors, while the ultra-short throw technology offers maximum flexibility. According to LG, the projector will be available in Germany from the second half of 2025, with a recommended retail price of €1,299. The CineBeam S should be an exciting option for anyone looking for a large cinema in a small space.
