IFA 2025 will once again bring exciting innovations for the household sector, and LG Electronics is setting a clear tone: With a new range of AI-powered washer and dryer solutions, the company is focusing on energy efficiency, sustainability and intelligent textile care. The portfolio ranges from powerful all-in-one washer-dryers to specialized models that reduce microplastics and make everyday life easier thanks to smart algorithms.

  • New heat pump washer-dryer with the highest efficiency class A
  • AI-supported wash programs with up to 60% reduction in microplastics
  • Dryer with AI Dual Inverter technology for energy-saving textile care
  • Advanced ThinQ functions for self-installation and smart control

Focus on energy efficiency: all-in-one washer-dryer sets new standards

The new heat pump washer-dryer, which combines both functions in one appliance, is at the center of the trade fair presentation. The predecessor model LSWD100E had already been awarded the highest efficiency class “A” for its washing and drying cycle – a level that LG has once again confirmed. For the wash cycle, the appliance even exceeds the A-class specifications by 30 percent, making it one of the most efficient models on the market.

The DUAL Inverter® heat pump technology used works with the more environmentally friendly refrigerant R290, which further reduces the CO₂ footprint. The design is also practice-oriented: Large loading capacity and integration into cabinet solutions optimize the use of space, while the minimalist appearance fits into modern living concepts. This is complemented by AI algorithms that adapt textile care to protect delicate fabrics. LG is thus further expanding its market position in the energy-efficient washer-dryer segment in Europe.

Smart AI functions for washing machines and dryers

In addition to the flagship washer-dryer, LG is also presenting new washing machine models equipped with the so-called Microplastic Care Cycle. This special wash cycle reduces the release of microplastic particles from synthetic fabrics by up to 60 percent – an important step towards sustainable textile care.

The in-house AI Core Tech, which is based on the proven AI DD® technology, takes over the control. It recognizes both the weight and the type of fabric and adjusts the movement sequences of the washing program accordingly. This not only saves energy, but also extends the life of the clothes.

The dryer models also benefit from AI-supported innovations. With AI Dual Inverter® technology, they analyze fabric type, weight and moisture level to automatically optimize drying. This saves energy and ensures that delicate textiles such as wool or silk in particular are treated gently.

User-friendliness and elegant design

In addition to energy efficiency and sustainability, suitability for everyday use also plays a key role. LG has integrated the ThinQ® service, which not only allows users to control programs via smartphone, but also to check the self-installation – a function that is particularly interesting for tech-savvy users.

LG also sets visual accents: With appliances such as the WashTower WT1210BBF, which will be available in black in Germany, the company is targeting households that value modern design as well as functionality. Intuitive control panels, clear displays and automatic cycle optimizations round off the user experience and make daily laundry care more convenient.

Conclusion

With its new product range at IFA 2025, LG is demonstrating how sustainability, energy efficiency and smart technologies can be combined. From efficient heat pump washer-dryers to washing machines with microplastic reduction and AI-controlled dryers, the company is focusing on solutions that are both ecological and suitable for everyday use. Prices and market launch are expected to be announced in the course of fall 2025 – just in time for the start of the European year-end business.
