With the Signature Slim Solar+ K980, Logitech has introduced a new keyboard that is characterized by sustainability, comfort and innovative technology. It uses the specially developed Logi LightCharge technology, which converts both sunlight and artificial light into energy and thus ensures a continuously charged battery. This permanently eliminates the need for manual charging – an advantage for anyone who values a tidy workplace and reliable technology.

  • Solar charging via natural and artificial light
  • Battery lasts up to four months even in complete darkness
  • Minimalist full-format design with a pleasant typing feel
  • Business version with additional management functions available

Solar power meets suitability for everyday use

The Signature Slim Solar+ K980 is the first keyboard from Logitech to be designed entirely for solar energy. At its heart is the slim solar panel, which continuously charges the long-life battery via light sources. Once fully charged, the battery lasts up to four months without a light source – even with intensive use. The battery is also designed for a service life of up to ten years, making it a particularly sustainable solution.

The design also follows this philosophy: the keyboard is made from 70 percent recycled plastic (in the Graphite version) and combines environmental awareness with elegance. The slim, flat form factor blends into minimalist setups, while the precise scissor-switch keys offer a typing experience reminiscent of high-quality laptops. With its full-format layout including numeric keypad, it is equally suitable for productive work and private tasks.

Intelligent functions for more productivity

The Signature Slim Solar+ not only offers energy efficiency, but also smart features that make everyday life easier. Up to three devices can be paired simultaneously and used seamlessly via the Easy-Switch buttons, such as an office PC, a laptop and a smartphone.

Multi-OS support ensures compatibility with Windows, macOS and ChromeOS, making the keyboard extremely versatile.
Integration via the Logi Options+ software is particularly flexible, allowing keys to be assigned individually. Automated Smart Actions for recurring tasks or quick access to AI services such as Copilot, Gemini or ChatGPT make the K980 a tool for modern workflows. Logi Tune and Logitech Sync are also available, allowing IT departments in particular to monitor and manage devices in a business environment. This reduces maintenance costs and makes the keyboard particularly interesting for large companies.

Business version for professional environments

In addition to the standard version, Logitech offers the Signature Slim Solar+ K980 for Business, an extended version especially for companies. This is equipped with the Logi Bolt USB-C receiver for secure, stable connections and can be managed centrally.

Logitech Sync allows IT teams to keep track of firmware updates and device status. For employees, this means smooth operation and minimal downtime. Here too, users can configure up to 23 key combinations, which further increases productivity in everyday working life.

Conclusion

With the Signature Slim Solar+ K980, Logitech is setting a clear example for sustainable product design. The keyboard combines solar energy, elegance and practical features into an overall concept that is attractive for both private and business users. The absence of manual charging, the flexible compatibility and the longevity of the battery are strong arguments for everyday use. The Signature Slim Solar+ will be available from September 24, 2025: the standard version costs 109.99 euros, the business version 119.99 euros.
