With the publication of new images at the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office), there are increasing indications that the Logitech MX Master 4 will be launched soon. The next generation of the popular premium mouse features a familiar basic design compared to its predecessor, but also exciting new details, including an additional side button and a different positioning of the LED display. This suggests a targeted further development for professional users and power users – with a focus on productivity and ergonomics.
No official release date has yet been announced, but Logitech itself has already recently scattered visual clues on Instagram.
- Additional control element: New side button under the thumb scroll wheel
- Familiar design: Ergonomic shape with wide thumb rest remains the same
- Revised LED display: Now on the top side under the scroll wheel switch
- Action ring symbol: Indicates configurable quick access menu
Proven shape, new control options
The MX Master series from Logitech has secured a firm place in the high-end mouse segment for years – primarily thanks to its ergonomic design and versatile functions. The presumed MX Master 4 also remains true to this line: the wide thumb rest is retained, as is the solid housing, which is designed for long-term use. A conspicuous symbol on the thumb area indicates the so-called Action Ring – a customizable overlay menu that allows quick access to frequently used programs or system functions.

The biggest visible innovation is a third side button below the thumb scroll wheel. The function of this new button has not yet been confirmed, but Logitech is known for in-depth software integration. It is therefore likely that users will be able to freely assign the button – for example with gesture control, app switching or system functions. This could make the mouse even more flexible in terms of workflow optimization.
It is also noticeable that the green LED indicator, which provides information about the operating status, is no longer located on the side of the new version, but is now clearly visible on the top – directly below the toggle switch for activating the freewheel for the main scroll wheel. It is unclear whether the mechanism itself has changed. However, the typical magnetic scroll system is likely to remain – one of the most appreciated features of the series.
What remains unclear
Little is yet known about the technical features inside the mouse. Neither the sensor nor the battery life or possible new connection technologies have yet been confirmed. Logitech itself has also not officially commented on the MX Master 4, although an earlier Instagram post had already provided a first glimpse of the design. The Reddit community did not miss this detail, which has further contributed to the attention for the new generation.

Another exciting detail remains the naming. Although it is very likely that the new model will appear as the “MX Master 4”, the name has not yet been officially confirmed. A slightly different branding is also possible, as Logitech has already tried out with other series.
Conclusion: Evolution instead of revolution with potential
The MX Master 4 will not be a radical reinvention, but a well thought-out further development of the successful concept. With a new side button, optimized layout and a continued strong focus on ease of use, it promises to live up to high expectations. For intensive users – from coding and graphics editing to multitasking – the mouse could be a powerful upgrade.
Price and availability: Official information on release and costs is still pending. However, the registration with the EUIPO and the brand teaser on social media give reason to hope that an announcement will be made soon.
