More power for the socket
The new FRITZ! repeater 1700 is the smallest Wi-Fi 7 device in the FRITZ! range to date and brings the latest Wi-Fi technology directly to the wall socket. With a speed of up to 2,880 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, it achieves a combined bandwidth of 3,600 Mbps. This not only makes streaming, gaming and working from home more stable, but also allows multiple devices to go online at high speed at the same time.
One highlight is the so-called multi-link operation, which enables parallel data transfer across both frequency bands. This reduces bottlenecks and the network reacts more quickly to changing requirements. There is also the integrated Gigabit LAN port, which can be used to directly connect wired devices such as consoles or PCs. Integration into existing networks is straightforward via WPS, and the FRITZ!App WLAN provides support for optimal placement in the home.
Thanks to WPA3 encryption and regular updates, FRITZ! continues to provide a high level of security. The repeater is compatible with all common routers and automatically adopts the access data of the existing Wi-Fi network. With a price of 119 euros (RRP), the device is now available in stores.
Mesh solutions for larger areas
In addition to the individual device, the FRITZ!Repeater 1700 will also be available as a mesh set in future – with two or three units for seamless coverage across several rooms and floors. A particularly interesting feature is the possibility of a repeater acting as a control center, even if no FRITZ! This means that users of other routers or modems can also benefit from the advantages of the FRITZ! ecosystem.
The mesh set is based on Wi-Fi 6, but is compatible with Wi-Fi 7 thanks to the modular expansion and is therefore future-proof. The units communicate with each other, intelligently distribute the load and ensure that devices automatically connect to the strongest signal. This offers a noticeable improvement in network quality, especially for households with many smart home components or gaming setups. FRITZ! has not yet announced the price and market launch of the new mesh set, but it is expected to follow soon.

With the FRITZ!Mesh Set 1600, FRITZ! is expanding its portfolio of mesh sets with an entry-level solution for the wall socket. The set of two or three units of the popular FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX provides users of any router or fiber optic modem with long-range Wi-Fi and all the benefits of the FRITZ! ecosystem.
Once connected, the secure FRITZ!OS, flexible guest hotspots and free updates ensure maximum convenience. The set of small powerhouses transmits with Wi-Fi 6 in dual band on 2.4 and 5 GHz. This enables Wi-Fi speeds of up to 3,000 MBit/s. Thanks to the compact design for the socket, the maximum bandwidth can be distributed stress-free in apartments and houses of different sizes. The FRITZ!Mesh Sets 1600 are now available in stores for 149€ (“2pack”) or 209€ (“3pack”) (RRP).
