Nothing is once again causing a stir in the audio market: with the Ear (3), the London-based company is presenting the third generation of its true wireless earphones. The new model not only offers a revised design with metallic accents in the iconic transparent look, but also innovative features such as an integrated “Super Mic” in the charging case, adaptive noise suppression and an improved sound system. The aim is to create an individual audio experience that impresses both when listening to music and in everyday life.

  • New “Super Mic” in the charging case for crystal-clear conversations
  • Adaptive noise suppression up to 45 dB in real time
  • Improved 12 mm drivers for powerful bass and clear highs
  • Battery life up to 38 hours with case, integrated fast charging

Innovation with Super Mic and intelligent noise cancellation

At the heart of the Ear (3) is the newly developed Super Mic. This is a dual microphone system with ambient filtering that is integrated directly into the charging case. It reduces background noise by up to 95 dB and clearly emphasizes the voice – a decisive advantage for phone calls in busy environments. The Super Mic can be activated via the TALK button, so that spontaneous voice memos or longer phone calls are possible without having to use the smartphone. The recordings are automatically synchronized and transcribed in the Essential Space of Nothing OS.

But the earphones themselves also focus on voice quality. Three directional microphones per bud in combination with a voice pick-up unit (VPU), which uses bone sound, ensure precise sound pick-up directly at the jaw. An AI-based noise reduction system, trained with over 20 million hours of audio, filters out wind noise by up to 25 dB. In addition, adaptive ANC technology adjusts to the environment every 600 milliseconds and corrects for leakage during movement, ensuring consistently high call and music quality.

Sound quality and immersive sound experience

Nothing has also revised the audio performance. A new 12 mm driver with aerospace-grade materials (PMI & TPU) produces clear sound with up to 6 dB more powerful bass and 4 dB more brilliant treble. This is complemented by Dynamic Bass Enhancement, which automatically boosts low frequencies without causing distortion.

For an immersive experience, the system offers “Static Spatial Audio”, which creates a stable 3D sound field. Users benefit from clear spatiality for movies, music or games. A particularly low latency of less than 120 milliseconds also ensures synchronicity when gaming or streaming video.

Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC ensures high-resolution sound with a stable connection. In combination with Android Fast Pair, iOS and Windows Swift Pair, connecting to different devices is seamless and uncomplicated.

New design and sustainable materials

The design of the Ear (3) remains unmistakably Nothing, but integrates subtle metal accents into the transparent housing for the first time. A custom-made MIM antenna with a material thickness of just 0.35 mm increases signal sensitivity by 20 percent and transmission power by 15 percent compared to its predecessor.

Nothing is particularly committed to sustainability when it comes to the charging case: it is made from 100% recycled aluminum and is manufactured in 27 precise steps. Thanks to nano-injection molding, the metal fuses seamlessly with plastic – stable, compact and completely adhesive-free. The IP54 certification also ensures suitability for everyday use: the earphones and case are resistant to dust, sweat and splashing water.

Endurance and features suitable for everyday use

With a 55 mAh battery per earbud, the Ear (3) offer up to 10 hours of music playback, which is 90 minutes more than its predecessor. Together with the charging case, a total of up to 38 hours is possible. The quick-charging function provides enough energy for a further 10 hours in just 10 minutes. In addition to classic USB-C, wireless charging is also integrated.

The earphones can also be controlled via the Nothing-X app. There, you can adjust the equalizer, configure controls or activate features such as access to Essential Space and even ChatGPT.

Conclusion

The Nothing Ear (3) set new standards in the true wireless category with their well thought-out design, sophisticated microphone and ANC technology and clear, powerful sound. Thanks to the Super Mic system in the charging case, improved battery life and sustainable materials, the earphones are aimed equally at music fans and frequent callers. The Ear (3) will be available for pre-order from September 19, 2025 for 179 euros (DE/AT) or 169 CHF (CH). Open sales will start on October 8, 2025 at leading retailers such as MediaMarkt, Saturn, Amazon and Digitec.
