A new leak provides the first reliable information on the technology of the upcoming OnePlus 15R. The model is to be positioned as a cheaper variant alongside the OnePlus 15 and will be available worldwide in early 2026. This means that OnePlus has a successor to the OnePlus 13 (OnePlus 13 5G 16GB RAM 512GB Speicher SIM-freies Smartphone mit 50MP Dreifachkamera + OIS - Schwarze Ellipse) in the starting blocks.

Short & sweet

  • Flat OLED display with approx. 1.5 K resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor
  • Triple camera: main, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lens
  • Battery with over 7,000 mAh capacity, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, metal frame

Display & performance

This year, OnePlus will once again delight us with a new flagship smartphone. However, the manufacturer is skipping the number 14 and jumping straight from the OnePlus 13 to the OnePlus 15. There is also to be a 15R version, which will offer slightly slimmed-down features, but also a better price. Now there has apparently been a leak in which there is initial information on the technical features of the OnePlus 15R. A leak now hints at the technical features.

According to the leak, the OnePlus 15R will be equipped with a flat OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution – often interpreted as around 1220-1260p instead of the usual 1440p. The refresh rate is said to be an impressive 165 Hz. This means the display offers a particularly smooth picture – ideal for gaming and high-quality media presentation. At its heart is the Snapdragon 8 Elite – a current high-end SoC that is already used in devices such as the OnePlus 13, Xiaomi 15 and iQoo 13. This ensures effective multitasking and sophisticated performance – especially at high frame rates.

Cameras & features

The OnePlus 15R is said to have a classic triple camera setup: Main camera, ultra-wide angle and telephoto lens. Specific megapixel numbers are not known at this time. The leak also mentions an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, which indicates modern biometrics. A solid metal frame rounds off the upscale finish. A particularly large battery with a capacity of over 7,000 mAh is mentioned as a highlight. This should make the device ideal for gaming sessions or prolonged use without frequent charging. Fast charging performance, wireless charging or reverse charging have not yet been specified.

Conclusion

The global market launch is scheduled for early 2026. The OnePlus 15R is to be offered as a cheaper alternative to the OnePlus 15 – with strong features, but at a more attractive price. The OnePlus 15R could be a real price-performance highlight for 2026: With a clear focus on a 165 Hz display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a huge battery, contemporary camera equipment and modern biometrics technology. If the leak is confirmed, the price is likely to be lower than the regular OnePlus 15 – with availability from early 2026.
