Panasonic presented two new full-frame cameras on May 13, 2025: the Lumix S1 II and the Lumix S1 IIE. These models are aimed at professional photographers and videographers who value high image quality and advanced functions. With innovative features and high-performance technology, they set new standards in the mirrorless full-frame class.

  • Lumix S1 II with 24.1 MP sensor and 70 fps continuous shooting speed
  • 4K video recording with 120 frames per second without crop
  • New “Urban Sports” autofocus mode for dynamic scenes
  • Lumix S1 IIE as a more affordable version with similar functions

Powerful technology for photo and video professionals

The Lumix S1 II is equipped with a partially stacked 24.1 megapixel full-frame sensor, which enables an impressive continuous shooting speed of up to 70 frames per second without blackouts. This is particularly advantageous for sports and action photography. For videographers, the camera offers 4K recording at 120 frames per second without a crop factor, which allows a high degree of flexibility in post-production. The new “Urban Sports” autofocus mode has been specially developed for fast and unpredictable movements and improves focusing in dynamic scenes.

The Lumix S1 IIE offers similar features to the S1 II, but with some compromises to allow for a more affordable price. It also has a 24.2 megapixel sensor and supports the “Urban Sports” autofocus mode. The video functions are somewhat limited, but still offer high quality for semi-professional applications. Both models have a dual memory card slot (CFexpress type B and SD) and offer internal image stabilization with up to 8 f-stops.

With a weight of 544 grams and a close focusing distance of 19 cm, it is suitable for both landscape and portrait photography. An additional control button enables quick adjustment of the camera settings directly on the lens.
