At this year’s Galaxy Unpacked event in New York, Samsung once again proved why the company is one of the innovation leaders in the tech industry. The focus was on the new foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 as well as the Galaxy Watch8 series. The devices impress with their advanced design, powerful hardware and comprehensive AI integration. Samsung is thus clearly targeting a tech-savvy target group that values functionality, mobility and smart everyday helpers.

- The Galaxy Z Flip7 has the largest external display of any flip model to date and offers improved AI features.
- The Galaxy Watch8 series integrates health features such as vascular load tracking and antioxidant measurement.
- All devices will be available from July 25 – the Flip7 starts at €1,199, the Fold7 at €2,099 and the Watch8 from €429.
Galaxy Z Fold7: Powerful foldable for power users
The Galaxy Z Fold7 presents itself as the ultimate work and entertainment tool for on the go. With a weight of just 215 grams and a case thickness of 8.9 millimeters when closed, Samsung is setting new standards in terms of mobility. The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite for Galaxy” processor delivers plenty of computing power.
It is supported by AI functions, which are noticeable when editing images or in everyday multitasking. The large 8-inch main screen on the inside and a fully usable 6.5-inch external display offer versatile usage options, from split-screen operation to mobile video production.
The camera equipment has also been upgraded: The new 200-megapixel main camera should excel in low-light photography and high-resolution zoom shots in particular. The combination of a powerful camera setup, generous display and high performance should be particularly attractive for content creators and productive users. The Fold7 is available in several storage variants (256 GB to 1 TB) with prices starting at 2,099 euros.
Galaxy Z Flip7: Compact, flexible, AI-controlled
The Galaxy Z Flip7 is an exciting option for those who prefer a more compact design but don’t want to miss out on innovation. The clamshell smartphone has a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz when unfolded. However, the special highlight is the external display: the new FlexWindow now measures 4.1 inches.
This makes it significantly larger than its predecessor – and allows access to numerous functions without having to open the device. Widgets, messages, camera preview or Google Maps can be operated directly from it. Samsung is also focusing on AI integration with the Flip7. Among other things, camera settings, exposure and focus are to be automatically optimized using machine learning.
An improved dual camera system (50 MP + 12 MP ultra-wide angle) also ensures solid photo quality. With a weight of just 188 grams and a thickness of 13.7 millimeters when closed, the Flip7 remains a true lifestyle device that combines technology and design. It is available from €1,199, while the new Fan Edition (Flip7 FE) with slightly slimmed-down specifications is available from €999.
Galaxy Watch8: Smart health monitoring with AI
In addition to smartphones, Samsung also unveiled its new generation of smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch8 series comprises three models: Watch8, Watch8 Classic and Watch Ultra. All variants rely on the integration of Galaxy AI and offer voice control via Gemini, which also works without a connection to the smartphone.
In the area of health, the new generation offers a variety of sensors, including the new Vascular Load Tracking, which measures vascular load, as well as antioxidant monitoring, which is intended to provide information on cell stress.
The Watch8 Ultra is aimed specifically at sports enthusiasts and outdoor users. It comes with a robust titanium case, a larger battery and new case colors such as blue and silver. With up to 64 GB of memory, it is also ideally equipped for music, apps and offline data. Prices start at 429 euros for the basic version, 499 euros for the Classic and 699 euros for the Ultra version.
