Samsung recently launched the Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor, which was unveiled back in January. This model, which builds on the success of last year’s Odyssey OLED G8, features cutting-edge AI upscaling technology and offers a tailored gaming experience for OLED enthusiasts.
Technical Specifications and Features
The Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49-inch monitor with a curved radius of 1,800R. It is Samsung’s first OLED monitor to combine Dual Wide Quad High Definition (DWQHD; 5,120 x 1,440) resolution with a 32:9 ratio. This wide screen ratio is equivalent to two WQHD monitors side-by-side, giving users an impressive wide view of their game. The monitor offers a fast gray-to-grey response time of up to 0.03 ms and a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz.
The monitor comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, which promises a peak brightness of 400 nits when displaying HDR content. The built-in Neo Quantum Processor Pro analyzes the displayed image to optimize colors, contrasts and shades in real time.
Connection options and design
The monitor can be connected to a computer via HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4 and includes a USB hub with two USB-A 3.0 ports. The stand is tiltable and height-adjustable, and the monitor is equipped with 2 x 5-watt stereo speakers.
Smart TV Features and Gaming Hub
As usual with high-end Samsung monitors, the Odyssey OLED G9 supports a range of smart TV features, including Apple AirPlay 2, Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV+ and Disney+. The Samsung Gaming Hub allows you to stream games directly from the cloud without having to connect a PC.

The Odyssey OLED G9 is available now worldwide. The recommended retail price for the German market is 2,499 euros.
