At gamescom 2025, Samsung and its partners are presenting a new concept for connected gaming in the home. In the Mobile AI Home, visitors will experience how gaming setups can be customized and automated using artificial intelligence, smart devices and the SmartThings platform. With more than 6,000 compatible devices from various manufacturers, SmartThings offers a wide range of options to optimize the gaming experience with appropriate lighting, sound, network prioritization and even health data.

  • SmartThings integrates over 6,000 devices and centrally controls gaming environments
  • Intelligent scenarios for gaming and streaming mode with light, sound and climate
  • Interactive experience areas at gamescom: gaming, streaming and relaxation zone
  • Part of the Germany-wide Mobile AI Home Roadshow 2025

Gaming in the smart home: when technology becomes a player

The Mobile AI Home is all about how a connected home can actively support the gaming experience. Using the SmartThings app, users can trigger scenarios such as “Game mode” or “Start stream”, which automatically adjusts the lighting, sound and room climate. RGB lights from Philips Hue change to high-contrast colors for action titles or soft light for relaxed sessions, depending on the genre. Speakers also adapt dynamically to the gameplay to create an immersive soundscape.

Entire processes can be started via voice control or scheduling – from switching on the monitor and adjusting the temperature to starting the desired game. Seamless integration ensures that the home acts like a co-player that responds to every situation.

Interactive worlds of experience at the trade fair

Visitors to gamescom can test various scenarios for themselves. In the “Ultimate Smart Gaming Zone”, the system automatically recognizes when someone comes home and prepares the setup with suitable settings. In the “Streaming Area”, the camera, lighting and sound are set up at the touch of a button or by voice command – ideal for content creators. Those seeking relaxation will find individually tailored light and sound settings in the “Relax Zone” to help them unwind after intensive sessions.

Wearables such as the Galaxy Watch are also integrated: They record vital data such as pulse or sleep quality and use AI functions to provide recommendations for light or room temperature to specifically support concentration or relaxation. The concept therefore goes beyond gaming and combines entertainment with health and comfort.

Roadshow and outlook

The presentation at gamescom is part of the Mobile AI Home Roadshow 2025, which is visiting various cities across Germany. The concept comprises a total of seven themed worlds – from energy management and security to fitness, entertainment and gaming. The aim is to enable visitors to experience how smart technologies can make everyday life easier and more personalized.

The SmartThings app, which combines devices from different manufacturers in a central application, remains at the heart of the show. The evaluation by Stiftung Warentest also shows that this concept is convincing: SmartThings received a “good” rating in the smart home comparison, putting it ahead of the systems from Apple, Google and Amazon Alexa.

Conclusion

With the Mobile AI Home at gamescom 2025, Samsung impressively demonstrates what a networked gaming setup can look like. Automated processes, intelligent scenarios and the integration of AI make gaming, streaming and relaxing more convenient and immersive than ever before. Visitors to the trade fair in Cologne can experience the smart home of the future live – before the roadshow makes stops in other cities.
