IFA 2025 in Berlin will once again be the showcase for the latest developments in consumer electronics and smart homes this year. At the center of attention is the renowned manufacturer Shelly, which is consolidating its position as an innovator in home automation with a series of groundbreaking new products. With products ranging from intelligent sensors to central control units, Shelly is setting new standards in terms of security, energy efficiency and user-friendliness. The devices on show promise to make the smart home not only safer, but also more convenient and intuitive.

  • Shelly Flood Gen4: A sophisticated water sensor that accurately detects leaks and sends instant notifications to prevent water damage.
  • Shelly Wall Display XL: A central control unit with a large touchscreen that manages and visualizes all smart home devices from one central point.
  • Shelly Power Strip 4 Gen4: A smart power strip with individual control and energy metering for each device.
  • Shelly Presence Gen4: An innovative presence sensor that detects even the smallest movements and enables more precise automation.

Safety and precision redefined

At the heart of the new launches are products that focus on safety and precise automation. An outstanding example of this is the Shelly Flood Gen4, an essential tool for preventing water damage. With its sensitive sensor, the device reacts at lightning speed to leaking liquids, whether under the sink or in the cellar. If a leak is detected, the sensor immediately sends a notification to the user’s smartphone and, in conjunction with other Shelly devices such as a water valve actuator, can even automatically stop the water supply. This offers invaluable protection against expensive and time-consuming repairs. The battery-powered design and easy placement allow for flexible use in critical locations throughout the home.

The Shelly Presence Gen4 is an advanced presence sensor that not only detects the presence of people, but can even detect the number of people in a room. The detection of up to six people in ten customizable zones enables intelligent control that dynamically adapts to the respective situation. For example, lighting or air conditioning can be controlled in such a way that they are optimally adapted to the needs of all those present without anyone having to intervene manually.

Central control and energy management

In addition to the specialized sensors, Shelly also presents solutions that simplify the general management of a smart home. The Shelly Wall Display XL is a central control unit that serves as a command center for the entire home with its large, high-resolution display. The wall-mounted display offers an intuitive user interface that allows users to view the status of all connected Shelly devices, switch devices, activate light scenes or view energy consumption data. It can combine the functions of multiple devices into a single, elegant device, eliminating the need to pull out a smartphone for every single action. The Wall Display XL is therefore the physical anchor point for the digital control of the home and makes smart home technology accessible to all residents.

The Shelly Power Strip 4 Gen4 is the ideal solution for anyone who wants to actively monitor and optimize their energy consumption. This smart power strip is not only equipped with four individually switchable sockets, but also measures the power consumption of each connected device individually. This enables a detailed analysis of which devices consume how much energy. This allows users to save energy in a targeted manner, for example by identifying devices running in standby mode and automatically cutting their power supply. The Power Strip 4 Gen4 is therefore an important tool for an energy-efficient home and helps to reduce electricity bills while maintaining convenience through smart control.

With these four new launches, Shelly is demonstrating at IFA 2025 what the next generation of smart home products will look like. But Shelly is not resting on its laurels with these innovations. The company also presented numerous further developments of its proven product lines at the trade fair, which make existing devices even more powerful, energy-efficient and user-friendly. The new appliances are therefore part of a comprehensive strategy to continuously improve the entire Shelly ecosystem and prepare it for the future. The new products are expected to be available in the course of 2026, with prices varying depending on the model.
