At IFA 2025 in Berlin, TCL Home Security presented a new product range that takes smart home security to a new level. With the TCL D2R Max Retrofit Smart Lock, the world’s first retrofit lock with 3D biometric authentication, and the new AI-powered TCL Cam D2 Pro and B2 Pro solar cameras, the company is focusing on maximum security, data protection and energy-efficient surveillance solutions. Visitors to the trade fair can experience the devices live for the first time in Hall 21A.

  • World’s first retrofit lock with 3D facial recognition, palm vein scan and fingerprint sensor
  • AI-supported solar cameras with 3K resolution, color night vision and intelligent object recognition
  • Local data storage for maximum privacy
  • Weatherproof, solar-powered batteries for uninterrupted outdoor security

New standards for smart locks

With the TCL D2R Max, the company is focusing on biometric multi-factor authentication. In addition to a fingerprint sensor, the lock integrates high-precision 3D facial recognition and a palm vein scan, which are designed to fend off even sophisticated spoofing attempts. According to the manufacturer, the accuracy of these processes achieves a level of security that is otherwise only used in the military sector.

Another plus point is the ease of retrofitting: the lock can be fitted to most standard European door systems without having to replace the cylinder. An integrated gyroscope also ensures that the door locks automatically as soon as it falls into the lock. All biometric data is only stored locally on the device and processed in encrypted form – a clear signal in the direction of data protection and user trust.

Intelligent monitoring with AI

In addition to the lock, TCL has presented two new outdoor cameras, both of which are powered by solar panels and thus focus on sustainability.

The TCL Cam D2 Pro is a premium PTZ camera with dual 3K lenses that provide seamless 360° coverage. An 8x hybrid zoom makes it possible to capture even the smallest details in high sharpness. AI algorithms not only recognize people, but also vehicles, pets or parcel deliveries and filter alerts so that users only receive truly relevant notifications. Thanks to color night vision and IP65 certification, the camera is ready for use around the clock and in any weather.

The more compact TCL Cam B2 Pro offers a 3K wide-angle view with a field of view of 132°. It is particularly suitable for large properties or rural areas and also comes with AI-supported detection functions. With a robust housing (IP66) and a 7800 mAh battery including solar option, it is specially designed for long-term use in harsh conditions.

Outlook for a networked security future

With this new product generation, TCL Home Security is underlining its claim to combine technological innovation with practical benefits. The combination of biometric access, AI-supported monitoring and sustainable energy supply indicates that smart home security will become even more automated, reliable and user-friendly in the future.

The new products will gradually become available in Europe from fall 2025. TCL has not yet announced prices; information on this is expected to be announced at the trade fair or shortly afterwards.
