The new TUXEDO Stellaris 16 – Gen7 with AMD processor takes mobile computing power to a new level. With a focus on maximum performance, modular cooling and professional-level display quality, the Linux-friendly notebook is aimed at anyone who doesn’t want to compromise between mobility and high-end power – whether for gaming, software development or video editing.

Anyone looking for a device that excels in both LAN parties and machine learning will find what they are looking for in the new Stellaris 16. The device combines top hardware with a sophisticated design and can be flexibly configured between quiet and powerful. The Intel model was unveiled at the end of May.

In a nutshell:

  • Up to AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D with 16 cores & 32 threads – ideal for gaming and multitasking
  • NVIDIA RTX 5090 with 24 GB GDDR7 VRAM for desktop-level GPU performance
  • Mini LED HDR display (300 Hz, up to 1000 nits) with 100% DCI-P3 color space
  • Triple-fan cooling system & optional external water cooling (TUXEDO Aquaris)
  • 99 Wh battery, up to 96 GB RAM & PCIe 5.0 SSDs – high-end even on the go

AMD power meets uncompromising configurability

At the heart of the Stellaris 16 – Gen7 (AMD) are the two new Ryzen flagships: the Ryzen 9 9955HX and the 9955HX3D. Both processors have 16 cores and 32 threads, reach up to 5.4 GHz in single-core turbo and are positioned at desktop level. The difference lies in the cache: while the standard model with 64 MB L3 cache already delivers strong gaming results, the 3D model doubles this value to 128 MB. As a result, it can offer a measurable performance advantage in CPU-limited games – such as eSports titles.

The higher power consumption of this performance class is cushioned by effective cooling management. The triple-fan cooling system relies on three large 80 mm fans and an airflow without side outlets, which reduces the noise level and dissipates the waste heat to the rear. If you need even more cooling power, the system can be upgraded with optional water cooling (TUXEDO Aquaris) – a first in the notebook class.

Display quality for professionals and gamers

The Stellaris 16 is the first TUXEDO notebook with a mini LED display. This technology features over 1000 dimming zones which, in combination with HDR support and 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage, ensure high-contrast, true-color images – whether for color correction or open-world gaming. With up to 1000 nits peak brightness, the display remains legible even in bright environments. The combination of a 300 Hz refresh rate, 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and matt finish offers optimal conditions for gamers and creatives alike.

A cheaper IPS version with 500 nits and 100% sRGB is also available – still impressive, but not quite on a par with the mini LED option.

Graphics power and memory for all requirements

There are three NVIDIA GeForce RTX models to choose from when it comes to dedicated GPUs: RTX 5070 Ti, 5080 and 5090 – all with GDDR7 VRAM. Depending on the model and settings, the power budget ranges from 60 to 175 watts, which allows flexible adjustments between volume, temperature and performance. In practice, this means ray tracing in real time, AI acceleration for rendering and sufficient reserves for the most demanding workloads.

The RAM can be expanded to up to 96 GB DDR5-5600. There are also two M.2 slots, one of which is already PCIe 5.0-compatible. This means that even memory-intensive applications such as 8K video editing or large code bases can be processed smoothly.

Robust housing, a wide range of connections and Linux support

Despite its power, the notebook remains surprisingly mobile at 2.6 to 2.85 kg and 28 mm in height. The all-aluminum casing ensures stability, while features such as one-hand opening and the concave full-size keyboard with number pad increase ease of use.

The connectivity portfolio meets even the highest demands: HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort, two USB-C ports (with charging function up to 140 watts) and three USB-A ports allow multiple monitors and devices to be connected. All important ports are located at the rear, which makes for a tidy setup.

As usual with TUXEDO, the device is delivered with full Linux support – either with TUXEDO OS, Ubuntu, Kubuntu or Windows 11. Thanks to the open design, the device is also easy to maintain and upgrade.

Conclusion

With the Stellaris 16 – Gen7 (AMD), TUXEDO presents a notebook workstation that leaves almost nothing to be desired. Whether for high-end gaming, software development or content creation, the system offers desktop performance in a portable format, paired with sophisticated cooling and an excellent display. The combination of AMD Ryzen 9, NVIDIA RTX 50 series and mini LED panel makes the device a real powerhouse for anyone who demands top-level performance.
