MAMMOTION is causing a stir at IFA 2025: The specialist for intelligent outdoor robots presents Tri-Fusion, a navigation system that combines three key technologies in one platform for the first time. Nine years of development work in the in-house Atlas Lab have resulted in a solution that gives robotic mowers unprecedented precision and flexibility. This opens up a new chapter in smart garden maintenance.

  • Combination of LiDAR, RTK and vision technology in one platform
  • Precision of ±1 cm, even on complex terrain
  • Dynamic switching between technologies in real time
  • Now available as an update for the LUBA mini AWD LiDAR

A new era of navigation

Previous navigation systems for robotic lawnmowers have always had specific strengths – and equally clear weaknesses. LiDAR impresses with maximum precision on smaller areas, while RTK shows its advantages on extensive terrain, but stumbles when heavily shaded by trees or buildings. Camera-based systems provide additional orientation, but reach their limits in changing light conditions. MAMMOTION’s Tri-Fusion now combines all three technologies, compensates for their weaknesses and adapts intelligently to any environment.

The special feature: The system analyzes in real time which sensor provides the most reliable data and switches dynamically between LiDAR, RTK and vision. Whether in the shade, on steep slopes or in extensive gardens – navigation remains stable and precise. An accuracy of ±1 centimeter is constantly guaranteed. This means that users can completely dispense with boundary cables or external base stations in many regions.

CEO Jayden Wei summarizes the significance as follows: “For the first time, we are combining all three leading navigation technologies in one system that dynamically adapts to any environment, ensuring absolute stability and top performance.”

Availability and integration

The Tri-Fusion system is celebrating its premiere on the LUBA mini AWD LiDAR. Existing users can now activate it free of charge by updating the MAMMOTION app. This underlines the company’s commitment not only to launching new devices on the market, but also to continuously improving existing models.

The LUBA mini AWD LiDAR itself is designed for lawns of up to 1,500 m² and uses LiDAR to map the terrain in just a few minutes. It masters gradients of up to 80%, automatically detects obstacles and offers convenient multi-zone management. Thanks to tap-and-go operation, set-up remains simple, even without prior technical knowledge.

MAMMOTION will also be presenting a wide range of innovations for lawn and pool care at IFA 2025. These include the YUKA mini Vision with triple-camera AI for cordless mowing, the LUBA 2 AWD with all-wheel drive and RTK mapping for areas up to 10,000 m² and the SPINO E1 – a cordless pool robot with intelligent SmartArc navigation.

Conclusion

With the world premiere of Tri-Fusion, MAMMOTION is setting a new standard for smart garden robotics. The combination of LiDAR, RTK and vision technology in one platform eliminates the weaknesses of individual systems and ensures absolute precision in any environment. The fact that the system is immediately available via a free update demonstrates the company’s clear strategy: not just announcing innovations, but bringing them directly into users’ everyday lives. At IFA 2025, it will be clear that the future of garden care is more flexible, intelligent and reliable than ever before.
