Schenker Technologies is expanding its PRO series with an interesting alternative for price-conscious power users: The new XMG PRO 16 Value Edition (VE) combines high-end performance with an attractive entry-level price. At the same time, the regular XMG PRO 16 receives a remarkable update, including an improved IPS panel cover and optional mini LED display. XMG thus continues to close the gap between gaming notebook, creator workstation and mobile multimedia center.

The most important innovations at a glance:

  • Intel Core i9-14900HX with 24 cores and choice of RTX 5070 Ti, 5070 or 5060
  • 16-inch display with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, 300 Hz, 500 nits and 100% sRGB/DCI-P3
  • Extensive connectivity including Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5 GbE LAN
  • Optional: mini LED display for the regular XMG PRO 16

More performance for less money: the Value Edition in detail

With the Value Edition, XMG is targeting users who are looking for a powerful laptop for gaming, content creation or demanding everyday tasks – but without entering the price range of the high-end models. At the heart of the new configuration is the Intel Core i9-14900HX, which outperforms even many desktop processors with its 24 cores. In terms of graphics, XMG offers a choice of three GPUs from NVIDIA’s current RTX 50 series: RTX 5060, 5070 or 5070 Ti – all in the maximum specified power limit.

The familiar casing remains the same: Aluminum display lid, 2.4 kg weight, 26.5 mm height – robust and portable at the same time. XMG adapts the cooling system depending on the GPU, with the RTX 5070 Ti configuration using the same cooling design as the top model. Power limits and fan curves can be fine-tuned via the BIOS and the in-house software – functions that are otherwise only reserved for enthusiast models such as the XMG NEO.

There is also a powerful display: 300 Hz refresh rate, high color space coverage (100% sRGB & DCI-P3) and a brightness of 500 nits make the device suitable not only for gaming, but also for creative work. The webcam with Full HD resolution has a physical cover – a practical detail for privacy-conscious users.

Variety of connections and upgrade flexibility

In terms of connectivity, the PRO 16 VE scores with above-average connectivity: In addition to HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 2.1, there are two USB-C ports, one of which delivers up to 140 watts via Power Delivery. There are also three USB-A ports, an SD Express card reader, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and a 2-in-1 jack connection. Up to four external monitors can be connected simultaneously – a rarity in this device class.

There is also plenty of scope for data storage and RAM: two M.2 SSD slots with PCIe 4.0 and up to 96 GB DDR5 RAM ensure high bandwidth for memory and RAM access. Thermal pads and heat sinks support constant temperature management. The keyboard also offers a solid overall package with RGB single-key illumination, N-key rollover and offset arrow keys, which will satisfy both frequent typists and gamers.

Mini LED upgrade on the regular PRO 16

Alongside the introduction of the Value Edition, XMG has also revised the regular XMG PRO 16 (M25). While the cheaper entry-level configuration with Core i9-13900HX is no longer available, the new model now consistently relies on the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and an RTX 5070 Ti. In addition to PCIe 5.0 and CSO DIMM RAM with up to 6400 MT/s, the device also offers an exclusive display option: a mini LED panel with up to 1000 nits brightness and local dimming technology. It is primarily aimed at creators who require maximum color accuracy and HDR-compatible displays.

Conclusion

With the XMG PRO 16 Value Edition (M25), XMG is launching an exciting alternative for users looking for modern performance and high display quality at a fair price. The freedom of choice for the GPU, the powerful cooling system and the variety of connections make the notebook a flexible all-rounder. For higher demands in terms of display and memory, the regular PRO 16 now also offers a mini LED upgrade.
