With the AquaSense 2 Pro, Beatbot presents the mid-range model of its new AquaSense 2 series. While the Ultra model is in a higher price range, the Pro model is already available at a lower price. With this model, Beatbot is also focusing on further technical developments, coupled with powerful features. The aim is to once again set new standards while ensuring an appropriate price-performance ratio.
To achieve this, a five-stage cleaning technology is also used here. In this method, the cleaning process extends from the floor to the walls and the waterline to the surface. At 13,400 mAh, the battery capacity of this model is just as high as that of the Ultra model. Depending on the size of the pool, several runs should therefore be possible without any problems. In addition, the separate container for clarifying agent ensures crystal-clear water quality at all times during dosed dispensing. Once the cleaning process is complete, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro returns to the water surface at any time. It floats there until it can simply be removed. This of course makes the procedure much easier, as the pool robot no longer has to be fished from the bottom.
Find out below what else the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro can do and how it differs from the Ultra model. At the same time, the question arises as to which target group this model would be suitable for.

- Large quick-start guide that covers the entire box
The scope of delivery of the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro is divided into two packages. The main box contains the pool robot itself as well as an envelope with various documents, including the operating instructions. When opening the package for the first time, the quick start guide, which covers the entire surface, catches the eye. The accessories are hidden in the smaller box and consist of a charging station, a pool hook and a clarifier set.
Appearance & finish
- Futuristic appearance with IMR coating
- Extensive sensor technology including infrared and ultrasound
- High-quality workmanship with over 200 passed quality controls
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro also impresses with its aesthetically and functionally convincing design. The two propellers on the back catch the eye, which Beatbot highlights in a striking blue. Added to this is the tried-and-tested IMR coating from the automotive sector, which makes the pool robot more resistant to scratches and UV radiation. In terms of the basic concept, however, the model remains largely identical to the previous Beatbot AquaSense (our test). As before, two caterpillar tracks are used for transportation and four large roller brushes are available for removing dirt. In direct comparison with the Ultra, however, the side brushes, the AI camera on the front and the integrated speaker have been removed. However, several guide wheels have also been added here – on both sides: front and rear.
In terms of workmanship, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro once again proves its class. This aspect is important to the manufacturer anyway, which is why each pool robot model series undergoes a series of certifications and strict quality controls before it is ready for the market. This care pays off for the end customer: they receive an accurately finished housing that has no unevenness and does not creak or wobble. Only the clarifier compartment proves to be a little stiffer, which appears somewhat inconsistent in contrast to the filter basket cover. Apart from that, the pool robot is in really exemplary condition. We have already had different experiences with the competition. The only catch: at just over eleven kilograms, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro is no longer one of the market’s lightweight pool robots due to its massive equipment.
Equipment
- Nine engines, 22 sensors, AI-supported navigation
- 3.7-liter double filter with anti-blockade system
- Clarifier compartment with sustainable, skin-friendly active ingredient
Two charging contacts on the underside of the housing are used to charge the pool robot. The counterpart is located on the charging dock, which must be assembled before first use. The whole thing can be done quickly as only the feet of the charging unit need to be pushed in at the side. The result is a stable charging unit that stands securely on any surface.
Under the hood, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro still has a whole lot more to offer compared to the usual pool robots on the market. Firstly, the Pro model has nine motors and secondly, 22 sensors ensure optimized operation. This results in a suction power of around 5,500 GPH, which remains identical to the Ultra model and the first-generation AquaSense. As far as computing power is concerned, this is provided by a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU with 1.8 GHz. At the same time, two ultrasonic sensors scan the entire pool in collaboration with AI algorithms. This is intended to guarantee complete pool coverage so that no dirty spot in the pool is missed. Route navigation has also been improved – both on and under water. AI data is used for this so that the pool robot does not visit the same spot several times but continues to choose the most efficient route.
The independent clarifier compartment, which has already proven itself in the first Pro model of the AquaSense series and in the Beatbot iSkim Ultra (our test), is also used here again. It is located at the rear end of the pool robot and can be lifted up to insert the included clarifier. The clarifier is free from harmful chemicals and is gentle on the skin. Recycled crab shells are used instead of problematic substances. Compared to conventional clarifying agents, this is even more effective at binding dirt, oils – such as those found in sun cream – and similar residues. The appropriate dosage can be activated for each cleaning process – either via the Beatbot app or by holding down the mode button for three seconds.
Compared to the Ultra model, the filter basket is slightly smaller, which corresponds to a total of around 0.3 liters. At the same time, the Pro model with 3.7 liters offers a significant plus compared to the regular Beatbot AquaSense 2, which only holds 2 liters. In terms of positioning, the filter basket is located in the interior of the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro and is protected by a black housing flap. As is usual with a double basket, two different filter densities are used here. The 3.7-liter basket has a filtration level of 150 µm + 250 µm, while the smaller 3.5-liter basket achieves a value of 250 µm. Double-layer filtration therefore ensures greater efficiency and also filters out smaller, stubborn dirt such as grains of sand more effectively. An anti-blockage system also ensures continuous operation by preventing the filter basket from becoming blocked by larger leaves, for example.
App scope
- Beatbot app offers live tracking, additional cleaning functions & control of the robot
- Additional features such as parking at the touch of a button and pool temperature display
- Solid user interface with contemporary design
To be able to use all the functions of the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro, the manufacturer app “Beatbot” for Android or iOS is required. After creating an account, the pool robot must be linked to your own account. This can be done either by scanning a QR code on the lid or by searching directly in the WLAN. A practical feature is that the pool robot already has a 5 GHz network, which is rather rare for smart devices. For comparison: the first generation of the AquaSense only supported 2.4 GHz.
After pairing, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro is displayed in the main menu. This is followed by a brief introduction to the most important functions of the pool robot before you can go on an exploration tour yourself. The pool robot scores points with the selection of cleaning modes, which are simple and clearly structured. If you wish, you can also configure an individual mode according to your own requirements. These adjustments are then transferred to the right-hand button on the pool robot. Another nice feature is that the app displays the current water temperature during the cleaning process. What’s more, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro can be controlled remotely if it is in skimmer mode on the water surface. This allows you to guide the pool robot directly to specific dirt particles using the joystick if required. Spontaneous parking is also possible: there is a separate button in the app for this purpose.
The cleaning log can also be used to list all past cleaning processes in detail, including the routes taken. The app also provides detailed information in real time during an ongoing cleaning process. When the robot finishes its work, for example, a push notification is sent directly to the smartphone. However, it should be noted that such features only work above water, as the radio connection usually breaks down when the robot is submerged. This also means that there is no real-time synchronization with the pool robot under water. Apart from this, the app impresses with a clear user interface combined with numerous useful features. Only the still somewhat inaccurate translations offer room for improvement.
Practical test
- Thorough cleaning of the floor and walls
- Average cleaning result on the water surface
- Automatic parking function on the water surface proves to be a major improvement
The test environment
A round pool with a steel wall is used for our test. With a height of 120 cm and a diameter of 4.60 m, the pool holds around 19,000 liters. As part of the test, we want to find out whether the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro is actually able to remove all the dirt from the pool.
Commissioning
As mentioned at the beginning, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro is charged via a docking station. To do this, the pool robot is placed upright at an angle, whereupon the charging process starts automatically. An LED bar next to the controls also provides information about the current battery status. If the pool robot should ever be completely empty, a full charge would take around 4.5 hours.
As soon as you arrive at the pool, you first select the cleaning mode. Depending on the selection of “Floor”, “Standard”, “Pro” or “Custom”, the subsequent cleaning process differs. Based on the degree of soiling, you can therefore decide whether you want to skip the walls and just clean the floor instead. Optionally, the pool robot can also be operated as a mobile skimmer unit on the water surface. For better cleaning, it is also advisable to leave the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro standing upright for around five seconds after selecting the mode for optimum calibration. The clarifier set is then inserted and the pool robot is ready for its cleaning tour.
Cleaning the floor
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro performs very well in the first cleaning category. This is where the pool robot manufacturer’s many years of expertise come into their own. Like the Ultra or even the first-generation AquaSense, the Pro model also completes a full 360-degree rotation to orient itself on the floor. Based on the data collected, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro then begins to follow its typical cleaning paths. In our circular pool, it initially moves in a circle and then gradually covers the pool in strips. At this stage, the pool robot would dispense the cleaning agent in metered quantities, provided it had been configured accordingly in advance.
As a result, the navigation works perfectly and no questionable movement patterns were observed during the test. The dragging mode of operation is also advantageous for cleaning, as in this case, unlike cheaper pool robots, no unnecessary dirt is stirred up. This means that even harder dirt particles can be removed without any problems and the pool appears much cleaner after a short time. The times given for the Ultra and AquaSense 2 Pro hardly differ, as both cleaned the circular pool reliably in around 45 minutes. In terms of cleaning performance on the floor, there is therefore nothing to complain about. The only pity is the lack of AI fast mode in direct comparison to the Ultra model. After all, this means that the Pro always scans the entire pool and cannot directly target dirty areas.
Cleaning the wall
After the cleaning is before the cleaning, so now we continue with a little incline. The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro shows what it’s made of in the wall cleaning cycle and navigates confidently according to the N-pattern. This leaves smooth, clean surfaces on the pool wall, while the majority of the particles are already collected in the filter basket of the pool robot. Another practical feature is that the waterline is controlled twice. In short, the AquaSense 2 Pro goes back into the water for a second cleaning, then comes up again and cleans the same spot a second time.
Once again, the new AquaSense 2 Pro is impressive, which should come as no surprise given the performance of the first AquaSense. However, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro also survives the floating pool ladder effortlessly without getting caught or stuck. Similarly unproblematic are heaped-up edges with sand, which do not create a 90-degree angle on the pool wall. The end result is once again a very good cleaning performance, combined with excellent orientation and navigation.
Cleaning the water surface
The water surface is a new category that the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro is set to revolutionize, according to the manufacturer. After all, the pool robot can also glide on the water and thus also adequately remove dirt from this area. A single battery charge lasts up to eleven hours if only the skimmer mode is used – significantly longer than under water. Unlike the Beatbot iSkim Ultra, which has a large solar panel on the housing, the AquaSense 2 Pro does not use this technology. Accordingly, it is not possible to charge the device using solar energy during operation.
Interestingly, a more differentiated picture emerges here, whereby the performance of the earlier disciplines is corrected downwards somewhat. The behavior is largely identical to the Ultra model – this applies to both the positive and negative aspects. On the one hand, the middle of the pool is largely free of dirt such as insects or similar particles, while on the other hand the outer areas are sometimes more challenging. From time to time, a little more dirt remains in the water than desired. On the other hand, the forward movement with the water jet-powered drive technology works without any problems.
At present, the firmware seems to be the cause of the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro’s orientation problems. Similar to the Ultra model, the Pro also floated repeatedly towards the wall for a short time, touched it and only reacted with a delay by changing direction. As a result, a few dirt particles were left behind that had not been approached thoroughly enough. The extent to which the somewhat narrow round pool or its briefly light-reflecting pool liner are responsible for this remains unclear. When used in larger pools with tile structures, this behavior should probably not occur to this extent.
The dirt removal has potential, but in its current form it could be even better. Hopefully Beatbot will take care of the matter and provide a firmware update in the foreseeable future. The fact that we have already installed several Beatbot updates speaks in our favor. This shows that the manufacturer continues to develop the product even after delivery. The new parking function on the pool surface, on the other hand, works great and is truly revolutionary – it’s a clear gain in convenience.
Cleaning
- completed in simple steps – just as easy as with the first AquaSense generation
- Easy transportation due to automatic self-emptying of residual water
- Large filter basket is sufficient for several cleaning cycles
When it comes to cleaning, Beatbot remains true to its old virtues and continues to rely on the tried-and-tested procedure of the first AquaSense generation. No wonder, since it already worked perfectly there. In addition, the new filter basket has significantly increased in volume and should withstand several cleaning trips.
Important to know: After the cleaning process, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro automatically starts emptying the remaining water inside the appliance. The motor continues to run audibly for a short time – a behavior that can cause confusion the first time it is used, if you are not already familiar with it. However, this automatic emptying process is practical: the excess water is pumped out in a controlled manner, making the robot much lighter and easier to lift out of the basin. It is best to leave it on the edge of the pool for a moment after removing it so that the remaining water can drain away completely – this avoids wet floors in the house or on the patio.
So how does cleaning the pool robot work in detail? First, the housing cover is opened by pressing the pressure switch. The double basket can then be easily removed using the blue handle and rinsed out with the garden hose – ideally from the inside and outside. Finally, the filter is reinserted, the handle folded in and the lid closed tightly. The procedure is therefore completed in just a few steps and only takes a few minutes, even if it is very dirty.
Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro test: Conclusion
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro positions itself as a convincing mid-range solution within the new AquaSense 2 series. The pool robot inherits many of the strengths of the top model, such as the five-stage cleaning logic, reliable navigation with intelligent route planning and the ability to thoroughly clean floors and walls up to the entire water surface. At the same time, the operating concept scores points for simplicity and the build quality is also impressive.
Some exclusive functions of the Ultra model have to be sacrificed, such as the AI-supported camera, which automatically detects dirt, or the side brushes on the front. The integrated speaker is also missing in this model, although most users will probably be able to cope with this. Nevertheless, our everyday test shows: Although these so-called “killer features” look impressive, they are not an absolute necessity for thorough pool cleaning – at least not for every pool owner.
The price-performance ratio of the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro is therefore more balanced than that of the Ultra, although Beatbot’s products are generally in the upper price segment. Of course, innovations and high-quality technology have their price – but the AquaSense 2 Pro is still priced above the entry-level and ordinary mid-range. In view of the significantly higher performance and the considerable added convenience, however, this seems entirely justified. As far as water surface cleaning is concerned, however – as with the Ultra model – we currently see potential for optimization. Obviously, the firmware is not yet fully developed in this area, which means that both the cleaning result and the path guidance still have weaknesses – at least in relation to our tested round pool.
For anyone who can do without smart extras such as an AI camera and instead values efficiency, high-quality technology and reliable results, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro is a convincing choice. With its comprehensive overall package, the robot is one of the top models in its class – even if it has a slightly higher entry-level price. It is, of course, outperformed by the flagship of its own series – the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra. However, this also has a significantly higher purchase price and is therefore primarily aimed at ambitious pool owners and technology enthusiasts.
VORTEILE
- Very good cleaning performance
- Strong app connection & functions
- Double basket for filtering the finest particles
- Very long battery life
NACHTEILE
- Skimmer mode with weaknesses

Fazit
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro impresses with its powerful cleaning performance, clever navigation and extensive features. Although the AquaSense 2 Pro has to do without certain features of the Ultra model, only very few pool owners are likely to notice a difference.
