The Dreame H15 Pro (Review | € 549.00 *) impressed us at the beginning of the year with its uncompromising cleaning performance and great features such as the movable rubber lip on the front of the mopping unit. But just a few months after the market launch of the flagship vacuum cleaner, Dreame has gone one better. With the Dreame H15 Pro Heat. As the name suggests, it aims to bring a little more temperature into play. And not during self-cleaning, but during the mopping process itself. During floor cleaning, the vacuum cleaner automatically heats the cleaning water up to 85°C. Read the Dreame H15 Pro Heat test to find out whether this is a game changer.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat Test: Design and workmanship

When it comes to smart household helpers, Dreame products are undoubtedly among the highest quality you can buy. This not only applies to the premium robot hoovers such as the Dreame X50 Ultra (Review | € 1,303.96 *), but also to the vacuum cleaners. Accordingly, I was not surprised that the H15 Pro Heat is on a par with the H15 Pro in terms of quality.

It doesn’t crack or creak at any point, which is clear from the quick and easy assembly. The handle, which houses the control buttons for on/off, changing the cleaning mode and self-cleaning, is simply inserted into the main unit and the appliance is already fully assembled. The handle itself has an ergonomic shape, which is particularly comfortable for longer cleaning sessions.

The handle ends in the main unit. Here we first see a smart display that shows the remaining battery capacity, the current degree of dirt on the floor and the current cleaning mode. The two water tanks are also located in the main section. The dirty water tank holds 650 ml.

When the vacuum cleaner is lying down, the maximum filling volume is reduced to 400 ml to prevent spillage. The fresh water tank, which holds 800 ml, is also located in the main section. This is rather atypical for vacuum cleaners with a flat design. After all, many now rely on water tanks in the cleaning unit.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

Dreame has done the same with the Dreame H15 Pro. With the Dreame H15 Pro Heat, the manufacturer is following the path of the Roborock Flexi Pro (Review). The cleaning unit again comes with the GapFree robotic arm, which catches the eye with its striking red color.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

In combination with the rimless design of the roller, this is intended to ensure that the most comprehensive cleaning possible is achieved around skirting boards and other edges. However, the Dreame H15 Pro Heat does not have an LED unit to illuminate dark areas. This is a bit of a shame, as this feature would certainly have come in handy when cleaning under furniture.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat test: High ease of use

Smart household helpers such as the Dreame H15 Pro Heat are designed to make life easier and make floor cleaning as simple as possible. To achieve this goal, Dreame has equipped its vacuum cleaner with some exciting features.

Flat design with remote control

Firstly, there is the flat design. Unlike conventional vacuum cleaners of older generations, you can lay the Dreame H15 Pro Heat flat. The 180° angle ensures that you can clean well even under flat furniture. However, there should not be too little space available. After all, the Dreame still measures 15 cm even when lying down. Here, the Tineco Floor One S7 Stretch (€ 499.00 *) has the edge at around 13.5 cm. As already mentioned, the Dreame does not have LED lighting.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

This sometimes bothered me when cleaning underneath flat furniture. As cool as it may be to be able to reach areas under furniture with the vacuum cleaner, you still have to bend down to do so. This can be uncomfortable for some people or hardly possible due to age or illness. And Dreame probably had these people in mind when they introduced the remote control. Using the Dreame app, you can move the vacuum cleaner forwards and backwards like a remote-controlled car.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

This should not only protect your back and knees, but also help with large areas under furniture for which your arm length is simply not sufficient. However, there are a few restrictions. The whole thing only works if the vacuum cleaner is actually lying flat on the floor. It also cannot be steered to the left or right. There were a few problems when we tried it out. For example, the vacuum cleaner moved forward reliably, but the reverse gear was quite bumpy here and there. That’s why the feature is more of a gimmick for me.

GapFree robot arm and rimless brush

We are already familiar with the red robot arm at the front of the H15 Pro Heat’s cleaning unit from the classic H15 Pro. It moves down fully automatically when you pull the vacuum cleaner backwards. This should ensure that the smart household helper doesn’t miss anything on the floor. This is also helpful when cleaning along skirting boards. If you move the mop backwards here, it also attracts liquids to the side of the cleaning roller.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

Especially in combination with the rimless design of the roller, this ensures great cleaning along edges. The cleaning roller also comes with the practical TangleCut scraper. This runs through the roller continuously like a comb during cleaning. This has the advantage that the roller cannot become soaked with dirt, which you then spread over your floors. Instead, it always stays clean.

Motorized wheels

Weighing in at an impressive 6.2 kg, the Dreame H15 Pro Heat is anything but a lightweight. You can feel this when you lift it out of the packaging for the first time or put it in the charging station. But here’s the good news: you hardly notice the weight during operation.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

This is not only due to the pleasantly flexible head steering, which allows you to change direction at lightning speed. The smart household helper also has motorized wheels to assist you when driving. The vacuum mop recognizes your direction of travel and then simply adjusts the direction of rotation of the wheels forwards or backwards.

Floor cleaning with hot water (85°C)

The Dreame offers you a total of five different cleaning modes. In the test, we mainly used the Auto mode. Here, the vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts the suction and mopping power to the level of dirt measured by the dirt sensor. There is also quiet mode as the lowest level and turbo mode for maximum performance.

You can then use the Dreame app to set your own personal preferences and use them in individual mode on the vacuum cleaner. But the most exciting feature is certainly the hot water mode. Here you can clean your floors with water heated up to 85°C, leaving greasy or dried-on stains and bacteria no chance. The temperature can be adjusted to three different levels.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat test: cleaning performance

Let’s get to the question of all questions. How well does the Dreame H15 Pro Heat clean? This can be answered quickly. I have tested very few vacuum cleaners that have been able to impress with such a strong cleaning performance. In the classic modes, it is on a par with the already excellent Dreame H15 Pro. No matter whether it’s a fresh ketchup stain, a cola puddle or dried jam.

This vacuum cleaner can deal with anything. Even grease stains in the kitchen can be removed in the conventional modes. But of course you need a little patience for this. In such cases, the hot water mode of the H15 Pro Heat pays off. This not only removes conventional stains much faster than the other modes.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

Grease stains that have already set are also a piece of cake in hot water mode. Cleaning along furniture edges or skirting boards is also outstanding. This is where the GapFree robot arm really pays off. It always performed reliably in the test and automatically shut down when I pulled the vacuum cleaner backwards.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat Test: Self-cleaning and maintenance

When you have finished cleaning, you should put the Dreame H15 Pro Heat back in its base station. This is not only to recharge the battery. This is also where the self-cleaning process takes place, which you start by pressing a button on the handle. Beforehand, you should check that there is enough water in the fresh water tank and sufficient space in the dirty water tank. Dreame also makes no compromises when it comes to self-cleaning.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

As with the MOVA X4 Pro (Review | € 599.00 *), the roller is first cleaned with 100°C hot water. This not only removes stuck-on stains from the roller, but also reliably kills bacteria and unpleasant odors. During the cleaning process, the water channels in the appliance are also cleaned. This is followed by hot air drying. Here you can choose between 85°C and 90°C. If you are in a hurry, you should choose the latter, as the self-cleaning process takes just 5 minutes. At 85°C, however, it still takes a very good 30 minutes.

Button to start the self-cleaning

As the Dreame takes care of its own cleanliness, there are only a few maintenance tasks left for you. The focus is certainly always on the water tanks. Ideally, you should clean the dirty water tank after every cleaning to prevent unpleasant odors. Thanks to the practical dirt strainer, you can dispose of solids and dirty water separately. You should also regularly use the enclosed cleaning tool to clean the chute between the main unit and the cleaning unit. Apart from this, however, the Dreame impresses with its low maintenance requirements.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat Test: Battery life and Dreame app

You can use the Dreame app to make further settings for the vacuum cleaner. This provides a good overview and offers some useful setting options. In contrast to robot hoovers, however, the app is not mandatory. So if you don’t want to create an account with Dreame and can live with the default settings, you can easily use the vacuum cleaner without the app.

When it comes to battery life, the Dreame H15 Pro Heat is pleasingly long-lasting. According to the manufacturer, it lasts up to 72 minutes on the lowest setting. As the endurance in our test on the auto setting was really impressive at just under 40 minutes with an average amount of dirt, there is probably something to the factory specification. Of course, if you clean in hot water mode, you can’t expect quite as much. According to Dreame, this mode ends after a maximum of 20 minutes, which is still a very good value.

Conclusion

With the Dreame H15 Pro Heat, the manufacturer is taking its already powerful H15 series to a new level. The cleaning performance is impressive and is further enhanced by the optional hot water function – especially for stubborn dirt or greasy residues.

Dreame H15 Pro Heat

The combination of innovative design, high user-friendliness and sophisticated self-cleaning makes the H15 Pro Heat one of the best vacuum cleaners on the market. Only the lack of LED lighting and the limited remote control slightly spoil the overall picture. If you are looking for uncompromising cleanliness with a high level of convenience, this is still the right choice.
