Laifen T1 Pro and P3 Pro Review: Elegant shavers for demanding users

Lifestyle tech company Laifen was previously known primarily for its hair and dental care products. Just in time for IFA 2025 in Berlin, the manufacturer is launching the Laifen T1 Pro and Laifen P3 Pro in the electric shaver segment. Both devices combine an elegant, high-quality design with versatile functions. Our test explains what they have to offer and where the difference lies.

Laifen T1 Pro and P3 Pro test: A touch of Apple

Anyone who has an Apple product at home, be it an iPhone, iPad or MacBook, knows that unpacking the hardware from Cupertino is always a very special experience. Laifen also transfers this feeling to the two new electric shavers T1 Pro and P3 Pro.

Both rely on minimalist packaging including the typical Apple insert for the instructions and the rolled-up, braided USB-C cable.

Visually, however, the two models are very different from each other and their intended use is also different. Let’s start with the Laifen P3 Pro. This is a particularly compact three-blade razor that is perfect for traveling.

The design is extraordinary, absolutely elegant and impressive. It is based on a compact unibody housing with a visible motor window and its design is reminiscent of high-quality wristwatches. The housing made of CNC-milled aluminum leaves a very high-quality impression with its shiny finish.

The P3 Pro weighs in at 179 grams, but is just 70 mm wide and 60 mm high. This makes it the ideal companion for traveling.

On the other side is the Laifen T1 Pro. It has an elongated, pleasantly flat and no less elegant design, but is noticeably quieter at just 93 grams. The handle is just around 24 mm wide, while the electric shaver has a maximum width of just under 47 mm at the top.

Thanks to its slim housing and pleasantly low weight, the T1 Pro is also a convincing shaver for everyday use or traveling and, with a length of just under 143 mm, still fits perfectly into any bathroom bag.

Impressive technology, different areas of application

From a technical point of view, both devices rely on powerful and modern features. Both shavers use high-quality linear motors that are particularly smooth and powerful. In the case of the Laifen T1 Pro, the built-in motor performs 12,000 cuts per minute, while the Laifen P3 Pro achieves 24,000 cuts per minute thanks to its dual linear motor and automatic adjustment via PID control.

This means that the P3 Pro adjusts its shaving performance in real time to the beard density and hair structure, which should ensure an even better result. The motors of both electric shavers are also particularly durable and have a service life of over 500 hours, which results in a lifespan of around 40 years with a daily shave.

There are also differences in the areas of application: The Laifen T1 Pro, for example, comes with three trimmer attachments that can be exchanged quickly and easily. These allow beard styling with a length of 2 mm, 3 mm or 5 mm, while the Laifen P3 Pro does not require a trimmer. This means that both shavers are also suitable for short and long beards.

Due to its more compact surface, the T1 Pro is particularly suitable for smaller areas, while the P3 Pro is also suitable for larger areas of the beard and shows its strengths here.

Another advantage of the P3 Pro is that it intelligently recognizes beard density and structure and automatically adjusts the cutting performance when it encounters coarse hairs.

Both Laifen electric shavers have a detachable shaving head that is held in position magnetically and can be removed quickly and easily for reliable cleaning.

Both models are also IPX7-certified, meaning that the shavers can also be used in the shower or simply cleaned under running water. The devices can be used in water up to one meter deep for 30 minutes.

Battery life

Both the Laifen T1 Pro and the Laifen P3 Pro can be conveniently charged via USB-C, and the charging cable is included in the scope of delivery. The T1 Pro has a battery life of up to 120 minutes, while the P3 Pro also lasts a very long 100 minutes.

There is also a practical fast-charge function for when things need to be done quickly. The T1 Pro can be charged for 8 minutes of use in just one minute, while the P3 Pro can be charged for 7 minutes of use in 3 minutes. Both are sufficient for a quick shave before an important appointment.

Laifen T1 Pro and P3 Pro in a practical test

The shaving results of the Laifen T1 Pro and Laifen P3 Pro are equally impressive. The electric shavers owe this not only to the powerful motor, but also to the innovative shaving head.

This uses an angle of 45° (T1 Pro) or 54° (P3 Pro) to achieve a particularly wide shaving angle, which increases coverage and enables a faster shave – no matter how you hold the shaver.

However, the P3 Pro in particular has a noticeable advantage with my full beard: a highly efficient triple blade system combines two deep-cleaning shaving heads with a flexible trimmer head. The trimmer head is laser-etched with textures to reduce friction, making every cut smoother and gentler on the skin. This allows the electric shaver to handle even difficult areas on the chin and neck with ease, picking up even the smallest hairs.

However, this does not mean that the T1 Pro delivers a poor result. A very clean shave that is gentle on the skin can also be achieved here.

Skin irritation was not a problem in my practical test, even though my sensitive skin normally suffers with many electric foil shavers. This is also thanks to the special shaving foil made from low-nickel material, which reduces nickel release by 92% compared to current competitors. This significantly reduces the risk of skin irritations such as redness and itching.

Both shavers are ready to use at the touch of a button and impress with a very quiet motor noise.

While the Laifen P3 Pro is primarily intended for a smooth shave, the T1 Pro is the more interesting choice for those with a three-day beard, which can be achieved thanks to the trimmer attachments.

Also suitable for shaving bald?

Both shavers are also ideal for shaving bald heads, although the P3 Pro also has a clear advantage here due to its larger surface area – but the T1 Pro can also achieve a quick, clean bald head.

I was pleasantly surprised by the results: the scalp is shorn pleasantly short without any itching or irritation.

The performance is surprisingly close to that of a wet shaver, which is still slightly ahead, but the P3 Pro delivers the best results compared to other electric or bald shavers.

Laifen T1 Pro and P3 Pro Review: Conclusion

Laifen’s entry into the electric shaver segment marks a real bull’s eye. Both the T1 Pro and the P3 Pro not only impress with their elegant design and outstanding workmanship, but also combine a powerful motor with excellent shaving results.

Both electric shavers are also pleasantly compact and lightweight, making them ideal for traveling. While the Laifen T1 Pro shines particularly well on smaller areas and is also suitable for three-day beards thanks to the trimmer attachments, the Laifen P3 Pro scores with a larger area and a very clean full shave. It also has a really good battery life and practical IPX7 water resistance.

Although both models are not necessarily cheap, they are definitely worth their price due to their outstanding features.
