With the V50 Ultra Complete, the still young company Mova is reaching for the vacuum robot crown and promises a technical revolution. As a Dreame subsidiary, the brand, which was launched in Germany in 2024, benefits from years of development expertise, but wants to stand up to the established top dogs with its own innovations. The flagship model combines 24,000 Pa suction power with a real world first: 50°C hot water mopping function directly in the robot. In addition, there is a retractable navigation system for 8.9 cm flat underpasses and a StepMaster system that can overcome obstacles up to 6 cm high. After around 50 trips, we show in our test what the ambitious flagship can really do and where the Mova V50 Ultra Complete reaches its technical limits.

Unboxing: Sustainability meets accessory madness
While many manufacturers pack their robots in Styrofoam deserts, the company relies on well thought-out cardboard engineering. Each part has its own fixed place and plastic is avoided as far as possible. Robots and stations are wrapped in fleece bags – this makes a much more professional impression than the usual packaging orgies.
As soon as you open the accessories box, it becomes clear that Mova is serious about the “Complete” in its name. The mountain of accessories is simply overwhelming and justifies the premium claim. In addition to the standard equipment, twelve mop pads land on the table. There are also three HEPA filters, three dust bags, two replacement side brushes and a complete replacement main brush. There are also two different cleaning bottles on board – a normal floor solution and a special pet odor mixture for households with pets. Mova puts the value of the accessories at around 200 euros, which seems realistic and will easily last for a year without reordering.

The hardware makes a high-quality impression and stands out from the crowd. The white-champagne-colored design with golden accents looks much more premium than the black uniformity of most competitors.

The workmanship is perfect throughout – nothing wobbles, creaks or feels cheap. The thick, heavily profiled wheels in particular send out a clear signal: Someone is seriously prepared for climbing here.
Setting up the Mova V50 Ultra Complete: Surprisingly painless in the test for a flagship bike
Installation is pleasingly straightforward and demonstrates the maturity of the system. Set up the station, fill the water tanks with fresh and waste water, insert the cleaning agent into the two separate chambers, click on the small ramp – and that’s it.
The app connection basically works smoothly – even though we initially thought the QR code was absolutely necessary. We simply downloaded the app directly from the store and set up the robot as normal – it worked without any problems. It was only later that we discovered the QR code on the box, which would probably have made the process a little easier. After entering the Wi-Fi data and a brief firmware update, the V50 Ultra was ready to go in around ten minutes.
The first mapping run through our 50 m² test apartment took around 10 minutes and delivered impressive results. However, this reconnaissance round already used up 10% of the battery – more than expected, but shows the intensity of the permanent sensor work. The mapping results are good: the 2D map is accurate, the room layout is automatically recognized correctly and the additional 3D perspective makes a very good visual impression.
FlexiRise navigation: innovation with a learning curve
The retractable laser tower is the flagship of the V50 Ultra Complete. Instead of remaining at a fixed height of 11 cm, the dToF sensor can disappear completely into the housing. The device then measures just 8.9 cm and fits under flat furniture, which is otherwise taboo. An LED light comes on automatically so that the camera can easily navigate under furniture even in pitch-black areas.
The sensor combination of LiDAR, 3D camera and AI works with fundamental precision. Cables are detected and avoided, obstacles automatically appear on the app map and are saved for future journeys. The object recognition with percentage probabilities is clever – in the event of uncertainties, corrections can be made retrospectively and the robot can be taught how to deal with certain obstacles.
In practice, FlexiRise works well, but needs some coaching. The fully automatic detection of low passages does not yet work perfectly – you should manually define in the app which areas can be driven under. This makes perfect sense, because a €1,200 robot should not crawl blindly under unknown furniture.
Nevertheless, it’s annoying because “automatic” sounds different. Once configured correctly, however, the system provides real added value for thorough cleaning.
StepMaster system test: The Mova V50 Ultra Complete is a true climbing artist
The StepMaster climbing system, which was completely convincing in our test, is much more impressive and reliable in practice. The system can extend lateral “stakes” and thus lifts the entire robot over considerable obstacles. Single door thresholds of up to 4.2 cm are no problem at all, and it even manages the advertised 6 centimetres for step-by-step or double transitions. It easily overcame our test threshold of exactly 6 cm in height after we had marked it as “crossable” in the app.
The climbing spectacle is technically really cool. The mechanical legs extend powerfully, the entire robot lifts up in a jerky but controlled manner and rolls over the obstacle with ease. The upward movement is precise, only the landing on the other side could be a little smoother. A small damper or a slower descent would be the icing on the cake for the otherwise excellent climbing performance.

The feature usually makes annoying ramps completely superfluous. For old apartments with traditionally higher door thresholds, this brings real added value and opens up previously inaccessible rooms.
Suction power of the Mova V50 Ultra Complete in the test: 24,000 Pa in the practical test
The 24,000 Pascal are not just empty advertising promises. This becomes clear from the very first pass. The V50 Ultra grabs practically everything that gets in its way. It works thoroughly on both hard floors and short-pile carpets and cleans thoroughly. It even pulls out the mouse barley seeds, which our dog constantly drags in and which like to get caught in the carpet, without any problems.
The four suction settings “Quiet”, “Standard”, “Turbo” and “Max” differ significantly. “Quiet” is sufficient for everyday crumbs and works pleasantly quietly. “Standard” quickly becomes the favorite for normal cleaning. “Turbo” and “Max” are really powerful, but correspondingly loud – perfect for thorough weekend cleaning.
The TroboWave DuoBrush system with two counter-rotating rubber rollers keeps its anti-hair-wrap promise. Even after 50 test runs with dog and long human hair, the main brush remained surprisingly clean. Only a few particularly long hairs got caught – a real relief in everyday use.
The battery pays the price for the power. A thorough clean of our 50 m² test apartment cost about half the battery capacity. Surprisingly, the different suction levels hardly affect the energy consumption. The permanent sensor work seems to be the real energy guzzler.
Hot water mopping: The noticeable difference
This is the most important unique selling point of the V50 Ultra Complete. While other manufacturers only heat their stations, the Mova robot draws hot water of up to 50 degrees directly from the base and uses it to mop throughout the entire journey. This is a clever technical solution and makes a noticeable difference.
Dried-on stains such as ketchup or spilt coffee come off much better than with cold water. In our ketchup test, only minimal residue remained in a tile joint – this clearly justifies the feature.
The automatic dirt detection works reliably and adjusts the cleaning behavior. The robot approaches stubborn stains several times and increases the water supply and contact pressure. In the case of heavily soiled mops, it even returns to the station early and cleans them with water heated to 80 degrees.
The rotating dual mops work with a lot of pressure. One extends sideways to reach edges better. Nevertheless, a narrow strip usually remains uncleaned in difficult corners – perfectly okay for domestic use, but perfectionists occasionally have to help out.
DuoSolution system: Better safe than sorry, especially with pets
The two-part detergent system is really well thought out. Tank A holds the standard all-purpose cleaner, tank B a special pet odor solution against pet odors. In the app, you can set when the pet solution is used – not at all, once a week or with every cycle.

This is practical for households with dogs or cats, as the automatic dosing saves the hassle of manual mixing. Particularly clever: weekly use ensures basic hygiene without wasting the more expensive special solution.
As a bonus, there’s also a pet function that automatically creates photos and GIFs of robot-pet encounters. A nice gimmick without any practical use, but it does provide the occasional smile.

App control: A lot helps a lot – sometimes too much
The Mova Home app really packs in everything that is technically possible. In addition to standard features such as schedules and restricted zones, there are individual cleaning intensities, CleanGenius mode and a live camera. The German translations are still bumpy in places and can be a little confusing, but functionally everything works. Over time, you get used to it and know what is meant.
The problem: the flood of functions can quickly overwhelm beginners. Important features are hidden in submenus, technology fans will be delighted with the variety of customization options, but occasional users may well be a little overwhelmed.
The manual configuration of crossable thresholds and low zones for FlexiRise is particularly important. This takes time to get used to, but without this reworking, many innovations remain unused.
One navigation bug became apparent in our test: there was a slightly narrower space between pieces of furniture that the robot refused to maneuver into during proactive cleaning planning. However, if it was manually placed behind it and called back to the station, it found the direct way back without any problems or hesitation. This indicates weaknesses in the predictive route planner, which should be able to be rectified with clever software updates.
All-in-one station: all-round carefree package with attention to detail
The cleaning station fully justifies the “Ultra Complete” name. After each run, the mops are automatically rinsed with hot water at 80 degrees and then dried with warm air. In addition, UV lamps sterilize both mops and dust bags.
The result of this elaborate self-cleaning process is impressive. The mops always come out clean, dry and odorless, with the intelligent dirt detection system automatically adjusting the cleaning intensity. Particularly dirty mops are rinsed for longer. A small filter basin can be completely removed for occasional maintenance.

The automatic dust emptying works reliably and the generous 3.2-liter dust bag lasts for around 70 days on average.

Everything runs automatically – you only have to refill fresh water and empty the dirty water occasionally depending on use. Although the water tanks are also quite large, in practice the water still needs to be changed relatively frequently – especially when using the mop regularly. Practical: The mops can be easily cleaned in the washing machine.

Weak points: Where software updates urgently need to help
After more than 50 test drives, a number of weaknesses have emerged, most of which are software-related. Although the FlexiRise function works reliably, it requires manual definition of the accessible areas in the app, contrary to the marketing promises. What is advertised as a fully automatic function definitely needs user input.
The Mova V50 Ultra Complete is thorough, but not the fastest. The AI dirt detection function noticeably extends cleaning cycles if dirty areas are approached several times. This improves the result, but costs time.
The app complexity and sometimes clumsy German translations can be overwhelming. It is clearly audible at the maximum suction level – if you want quiet operation, you should stick to lower levels.
Comparison with the competition
The price of the Mova V50 Ultra Complete is on a par with flagships such as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete and offers an all-round complete package. Compared to its Dreame relative, it even offers additional extras such as the DuoSolution system and the warm water mopping function directly in the robot.
In terms of hardware, the Mova plays in the upper class and even outperforms the competition in some cases. The extensive scope of delivery justifies the higher price compared to cheaper alternatives. Mova only lags behind established brands such as Roborock in terms of software maturity. This is where years of market experience pay off, while Mova still has to learn as a young provider.
Compared to the in-house P50 Pro Ultra, the V50 Ultra scores with its warm water features, better scope of delivery, higher suction power and additional comfort functions. Anyone who appreciates innovative features will get significantly more robot for the price.
Conclusion: Real ambition and a solid foundation
In our test, the Mova V50 Ultra Complete impressively demonstrates that even newcomers can quickly catch up with established giants – at least in terms of hardware. The 24,000 Pa suction power is completely convincing in practice, the StepMaster system masters 6 cm obstacles with ease and the TroboWave anti-hair wrap system keeps its promises. The real unique selling point, however, is the warm water mopping function directly in the robot – Mova really is a pioneer here and the noticeable difference it makes to stubborn stains clearly justifies the feature.
The exceptionally comprehensive scope of delivery, which lives up to the “Complete” in the product name, should be clearly emphasized. Twelve mop pads, replacement filters and the clever DuoSolution system make additional purchases superfluous for a year (of course, user behavior also determines this). The all-in-one station works in an exemplary, thorough and hygienic manner.
The weaknesses clearly lie in the software setup. In our experience, FlexiRise relies more on manual configuration than fully automatic detection, the app complexity can be overwhelming and the German translations are sometimes confusing. However, these are solvable teething problems of an ambitious system.
The V50 Ultra Complete is recommended for tech-savvy users and households with high cleaning requirements who appreciate innovative features and are willing to help with the configuration. Anyone expecting plug-and-play convenience should wait for software updates. However, the technical basis for a truly top-class robot has definitely been laid – in our opinion, Mova now needs to tweak the software a little.
