Dirt collects under the sofa because no robot vacuum fits underneath. The Roborock Qrevo CurvX aims to solve precisely this problem. With a height of just 7.98 centimetres, it promises to be the flattest Roborock ever and finally crawl under every coffee table. The innovative RetractSense system moves the laser tower away completely when required, while 22,000 Pa of suction power should provide the necessary power. A revolutionary anti-hair system aims to make tangles impossible, and the tried-and-tested AdaptiLift chassis is even designed to cope with 4 cm thresholds. After around 50 intensive test drives, we show what the Roborock Qrevo CurvX is really capable of in the test.

Unpacking: Roborock remains minimalist
The first thing you notice when opening the box is the well thought-out and sustainable packaging. Roborock relies on sturdy cardboard engineering instead of Styrofoam deserts, each part has its own fixed place. The robot and station are wrapped in plastic film – this looks more professional than the usual packaging.
Roborock then shows its usual restraint when it comes to accessories. While other manufacturers deliver their robots with mountains of spare parts, Roborock limits itself to the absolute minimum. This spartan approach is typical of the company – they believe that their robots are so durable that spare parts are not constantly needed. However, we really missed a cleaning fluid at this point. According to the manufacturer’s instructions, only one that is explicitly suitable for Roborock devices should be used.
The complete scope of delivery:
- Roborock Qrevo CurvX robot hoover
- Multifunctional docking station 3.0 Thermo+
- Power cable for the station
- One vacuum cleaner bag already inserted
- Instruction manual

Despite the meagre scope of delivery, the first impression is all the more rewarding. The CurvX feels high-quality, the white design looks timeless and the workmanship is impeccable. The station with its igloo shape is really unusual and stands out from the usual rectangular boxes.
Set-up: child’s play as usual
In our Roborock Qrevo CurvX test, installation went smoothly as usual and demonstrates the maturity of the Roborock system. Set up the station, insert the fresh water and waste water tank, place the CurvX in the igloo base – that’s all it takes. Although the round station requires a little more floor space than classic rectangular designs, the robot disappears completely into it and the overall system looks tidier.
The app connection works without any problems. Scan the QR code on the operating instructions, download the app, scan the QR code on the robot, enter the Wi-Fi data, wait for a small update – after around ten minutes, the CurvX is ready for its first use.
The app guides you through a practical quick start that queries all important settings and optimally configures the robot.
The first mapping run through our test apartment takes around 5 minutes and runs fairly smoothly. The automatic room recognition works quite well – even if not every room is assigned correctly straight away. Overall, Roborock has a very good command of mapping anyway, and there are no major negative surprises with the CurvX either.
Of course, the map can also be customized in the settings and switched to a 3D model – but more on that later.
Test of the RetractSense navigation of the Roborock Qrevo CurvX: Finally under every piece of furniture
The RetractSense system is the heart of the CurvX and makes it the flattest Roborock ever. The clever trick: the LiDAR tower retracts completely into the housing when required, reducing the overall height from 10.5 cm to just 7.98 cm. Although other manufacturers also offer retractable systems, it is unlikely to be that flat. A ToF sensor constantly measures the available ceiling height and automatically decides whether the tower should be retracted or extended.

When the tower is extended, the system works like a classic LiDAR robot with 360-degree all-round vision. When the tower retracts, a front camera with structured light takes over navigation while still capturing 100 degrees to the rear. LED lighting automatically helps in dark areas under furniture.

In practice, this is really ingenious. The CurvX crawls under practically every sofa, bed or TV board and cleans up thoroughly. Interestingly, the navigation under furniture works even better than in normal rooms – there it remains purposeful and oriented. In a few situations during normal operation, there were a few moments of wandering, but under the sofa, of all places, it works with astonishing precision. The transition between modes is seamless, without the user noticing anything.
AdaptiLift chassis: Elegantly over every threshold
Roborock has further refined the tried-and-tested AdaptiLift system for the CurvX. The three independently adjustable wheels enable different “body postures” and the elegant overcoming of obstacles up to 4 cm high. Normal door thresholds are child’s play, our 3.8 cm test threshold was mastered with ease.
The spectacle of climbing is impressive to watch – although the CurvX sometimes needs a few attempts before it finds the right setting. Occasionally, the system seems a little uncoordinated before it works elegantly. The front wheel extends, lifts the entire robot in a controlled manner and it rolls smoothly over the threshold. Much more elegant than the mechanical Staksen systems from other manufacturers, which are often rough and noisy.
The automatic adaptation to carpets is particularly clever – the CurvX lifts the entire chassis for long-pile carpets so that carpet fibers do not block the suction shaft. The system works more reliably here than with thresholds.
Dual Anti-Tangle: tangled hair is history
The Dual Anti-Tangle system is perhaps the best practical innovation on the entire Roborock Qrevo CurvX and solves a problem that has annoyed every robot owner with long hair or pets for years, even in the test. The DuoDivide main brush consists of two separate rollers with a gap in the middle – hair can no longer wrap around a continuous brush, but is instead transported through the central gap directly into the suction chute.
At the same time, the FlexiArm side brush with its special curved shape and only two instead of three bristles prevents hair tangling at the corners. The design is so cleverly thought out that tangles are practically impossible. We tried test hairs of 5, 20 and even 40 centimetres – everything was sucked up without any problems and without tangling.
After our 50 test runs, both brushes remained practically hair-free. This is a real relief in everyday life and makes the otherwise annoying weekly brush maintenance practically superfluous. No more fiddling with scissors or blades – the CurvX simply remains low-maintenance.
Cleaning modes and performance of the Roborock Qrevo CurvX: Versatile and powerful in the test
The 22,000 Pascal suction power really promises a lot, but is it really possible? The very first test shows that this is not the usual robot suction power. Hard floors are cleaned thoroughly, even in the tile joints little is left behind. On carpets, you can clearly hear the CurvX getting stuck in – it really gets to work.
The 6 cleaning modes available in the app:
- SmartPlan: AI learns and adapts to rooms and habits
- Vacuum, then mop: Sequential cleaning for the best results
- Vac & Mop: Simultaneous vacuuming and mopping to save time
- Mop only: Mop-only function for floors that have already been vacuumed
- Vacuum only: Vacuum only function without mopping
- Individual: Fully customizable settings per room
In practice, “Vac & Mop” has emerged as our favorite – it’s quicker and still cleans properly. The 4 suction levels are really noticeably different: “Quiet” at 50 dB for everyday use, “Standard” as an everyday setting, “Turbo” and “Max” at up to 65 dB when you want to be thorough. However, the latter are also correspondingly loud. You can even set the CurvX to clean certain areas up to twice – this helps with stubborn dirt.
Mops and hot water: how it works
When mopping, the heated water from the station scores points. This is particularly noticeable when stains have already dried a little, such as ketchup or coffee – these are much easier to remove than with cold water. The two rotating mops work with up to 12N contact pressure and 200 revolutions per minute, which ensures a good amount of dirt is removed. The right-hand mop extends sideways to reach edges better – this works noticeably better than fixed systems and ensures more even coverage.
Although the station already cleans very thoroughly with 80°C hot water and practically sterilizes the mops, they can be easily replaced and even thrown into the normal washing machine if necessary. The Velcro fastener holds firmly and the counterpart sits directly on the mop – so nothing gets caught in other textiles during washing.

The automatic carpet detection via ultrasonic sensors is a practical feature. The CurvX immediately recognizes when it is driving on carpet, turns up the power and lifts the mops by 17 mm. With thicker carpets, it can even leave them completely in the station – it then drives back, puts them down and picks them up again later. A little awkward, but a clever solution.
The battery lasts for around 180 minutes. In our test apartment, this was easily enough for two complete rounds in “standard” mode. Of course, it runs out faster at full power, but that’s fine for normal homes.
FlexiArm technology for perfect corners
FlexiArm technology ensures that corners and edges are also cleaned more neatly – an area where many robot hoovers have traditionally been weak. Both the side brush and the right-hand mop can extend sideways to reach areas that would otherwise remain inaccessible.
The system works fully automatically and intelligently. As soon as the CurvX detects a corner or edge, the brush and mop extend accordingly. The extendable side brush extends by several centimetres and the mop adapts dynamically to the contour. The result is much cleaner corners than with most other robots, even if minimal residue is occasionally left behind. FlexiArm technology also reaches its limits, especially in very angled corners or with complex furniture arrangements. For normal domestic use, however, corner cleaning is very good and significantly better than with rigid systems.
Obstacle detection: reliable but careful
The CurvX’s obstacle detection is based on a combination of structured light and RGB camera and, according to Roborock, can detect and avoid 108 different types of objects. In practice, the system works reliably and prevents most collisions. Cables, shoes, toys or pets are detected and safely avoided.
The system also works smoothly in dark areas thanks to automatic LED lighting. The detected objects automatically appear on the app map and can be subsequently categorized or assigned no-go zones. However, the system sometimes works too carefully and maintains unnecessarily large safety distances from detected objects. Small crumbs or dirt in the vicinity of cables are then occasionally left uncleaned.
“Hello Rocky” voice assistant
The integrated “Hello Rocky” voice assistant, which also works offline, is particularly practical. Simply say “Hello Rocky, start cleaning” or “Hello Rocky, return to station” and the robot will carry out the commands. This is much more practical than external voice assistants and also works in the event of an internet failure.
The assistant understands various commands for starting, stopping, returning to the station or cleaning certain rooms. Voice recognition works reliably, even with background noise or different speakers. The response time is minimal and the CurvX reacts almost immediately to voice commands.
Pet functions and monitoring in the test of the Roborock Qrevo CurvX
For pet owners, the CurvX offers special features that go beyond just cleaning. The automatic pet detection usually works, but not always – our test dog was carefully approached a few times while lying down, and human feet were also occasionally nudged. When the system detects pets, it switches off the main brush and moves to the side.
The “Find my Pet” function is somewhat sluggish and requires good visibility – in our test, the camera drove past the dog four times before it was recognized. Video calls with two-way voice interaction are possible, but the camera quality is only mediocre. It is sufficient for occasional pet monitoring, but unsuitable for serious surveillance.

Competitor comparison: Well positioned
At 1,199 euros, the CurvX is positioned in the upper mid-range. Compared to the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete (1,499 euros RRP), it scores points with its flatter design, better anti-hair wrap and more elegant station. Compared to the MOVA V50 Ultra Complete, the Roborock offers more sophisticated software, better navigation and a flatter design, while MOVA counters with a wider range of accessories.
In contrast to the Narwal Freo X Ultra, Roborock offers better workmanship and app quality. On the hardware side, Roborock continues to play in the absolute top class with impeccable workmanship and precise navigation. When it comes to software maturity, other manufacturers usually still have some catching up to do, while Roborock benefits from years of experience.
Flat, hair-free, thorough – the Roborock Qrevo CurvX impresses in the test
In our test, the Roborock Qrevo CurvX impressively demonstrates why the Chinese company is still the market leader in the premium segment. The RetractSense system is a real innovation and solves a long-standing problem – the lack of cleaning under low furniture. At just 7.98 cm high, the CurvX crawls under practically everything and cleans thoroughly. That alone is worth the extra cost.
The 22,000 Pa suction power is completely convincing, the Dual Anti-Tangle System works perfectly even after 50 test runs and makes the CurvX a low-maintenance household helper. The FlexiArm technology ensures perfect corner cleaning, and anyone who has had problems with hair will love the anti-hair system – it really works. The station works thoroughly and hygienically, and the app has been perfected over the years. You have to like the futuristic igloo design, but it definitely looks good.
The pet functions are nice, but are sometimes more sophisticated with other manufacturers. The “Find your Pet” function is definitely cool and unique, but it doesn’t work perfectly yet. The lack of an automatic detergent tank is a shame, but otherwise we are complaining at a very high level.
The CurvX is recommended for anyone who has a lot of low furniture, struggles with hair problems or wants a reliable premium robot. For €1,199 RRP, you get one of the best robot hoovers currently on the market – with real innovations that noticeably improve everyday life. The extremely flat design makes areas accessible that were previously off-limits and the anti-hair system virtually eliminates the need for weekly brush maintenance.
