With the WYBOT C2 Vision, the manufacturer is adding a new model to its range of automatic pool cleaners. With the help of an AI camera, the aim is not only to ensure more thorough cleaning, but also more efficient cleaning. This includes a special cleaning mode that only targets the dirty areas. Another new feature is a double filter, consisting of a pre-filter for coarse dirt and an additional fine dust filter for the smallest particles, such as grains of sand. And thanks to the integration of AI, including its own camera, the WYBOT C2 Vision impressively outperforms the basic C2 model.
Today’s test will find out how the pool robot performs in our circular pool and for whom the successor to the WYBOT C1 is worthwhile.

Appearance & workmanship
- Suitable for all common pool shapes and materials
- New design with LED strip and AI camera
- 8 kg weight with robust workmanship and improved mechanism
The WYBOT C2 Vision is basically suitable for all pool shapes, whether rectangular, kidney-shaped or round. There are also virtually no restrictions when it comes to pool materials: The spectrum ranges from fiberglass and vinyl to common materials such as ceramic, concrete or pebble.
In terms of design, the WYBOT C2 Vision is already very similar to its predecessor model and has many features in common. These include the left control button on the top, the centrally positioned fan and the power connection to the right of it. The somewhat narrow carrying handle of the previous model has now been moved further forward and sits directly above the two thick roller brushes. This change creates space for an additional LED strip and an AI vision camera. The filter basket is located on the opposite side of the interior. Its housing can be opened from the outside using a push button.
With a weight of 8 kg, the WYBOT C2 Vision belongs to the medium device class and is therefore in the handy range. Compared to other pool robots, which weigh more than 10 kg, the C2 Vision is definitely more practical. Nevertheless, the pool robot appears robust and solid in view of its size, which is also due to the comparatively large rollers on both sides. Fortunately, the opening and closing mechanism of the housing has been improved compared to the previous model, making it appear less cumbersome. When it comes to the choice of materials, the usual picture emerges, which does full justice to the price. As usual, durable plastic is used, which is the right choice for continuous use in the pool. All surfaces have a consistently smooth finish and, in combination with the tried-and-tested double roller brushes, once again ensure a harmonious finish.
Features
- AI camera and other sensors for targeted dirt detection
- Dirt-hunting mode saves time through selective cleaning
- Brushless triple motor provides a total output of 65 watts
As the name suffix “Vision” suggests, the WYBOT C2 Vision uses its own AI to track dirt particles. Compared to the basic C2 model, you can see the difference at first glance: The C2 Vision comes with additional sensors that scan the pelvic floor as well as a camera integrated on the front of the housing. With the help of OTA updates and several cleaning runs, the pool robot learns continuously and gradually improves its detection pattern for hair, leaves, algae or sand residue, for example. The so-called ‘dirt hunting mode’ is also one of the new features. In contrast to the conventional cleaning patterns, only the dirty areas are approached here, while the clean areas of the pool are skipped. This function is particularly useful for spontaneous pool fun, as a normal cleaning can take 1 to 2 hours depending on the size of the pool.
In addition to the C2 product range, a double-layer filter has also been introduced, consisting of a particle filter with 180 µm filtration and a HEPA insert for 10 µm fine filtration. As usual, the wide double roller brushes typical of WYBOT are located on the front of the pool robot, with two water outlets on the opposite side. A brushless triple motor with a total output of 65 watts is installed under the hood. In terms of route planning, there is a choice of seven different variants, while eight separate cleaning modes can be selected via the app.
App scope
- App control via WLAN & Bluetooth
- Many cleaning modes incl. “dirt hunt” including expert mode
- Cycle timer ensures cleaning over several days
The manufacturer’s “WYBOT” app is available for further functions of the WYBOT C2 Vision. This requires you to create an account if you do not already have one. You are then taken directly to the app’s home screen, where you can easily add the new pool robot using the plus symbol. An active Bluetooth connection is required during the initial setup, after which the pool robot can be operated via Wi-Fi.
After a new registration, a pool should be added to get started and the appropriate information on the design, inclination and type of pool material should be entered. It is then possible to specify different cleaning patterns for the pool robot. You can choose between wall or floor cleaning only and explicit cleaning of the waterline. In the “Standard full pool” mode, all cleaning types are used, which should be the most practical for the general public. A new option is the somewhat strange-sounding “dirt hunt”, which only targets the dirt detected using the integrated camera.
The new features include a special program for heavy soiling, which is particularly recommended at the start of the season after the cold winter months or after a long period of inactivity. As with the WYBOT C1, there is also a cycle timer, which allows the pool robot to remain in the pool for several days and complete its rounds every 24 hours, for example. The selection of the path planning can also be defined via the expert mode. Three patterns are available for both floor and wall cleaning.
In short, the app is packed with features, but does not quite reach the level of comparable manufacturers in terms of user-friendliness and sometimes runs a little sluggishly. WYBOT could make some fine-tuning in this area. The same also applies to Wi-Fi integration, which initially caused difficulties due to a space in the Wi-Fi name.
Practical test
- Effective floor cleaning with optional fine dust filter
- Strong suction power and navigation, with little residue at the same time
- Reliable wall and waterline cleaning with three patterns
The test environment
A round pool with a steel wall is used for testing. With a height of 120 cm and a diameter of 4.60 m, the pool holds around 19,000 liters. In the following, we clarify whether the WYBOT C2 Vision can accurately remove all dirt.
Commissioning
At the time of arrival, the pool robot had a battery capacity of around 60 %. Therefore, before the extensive series of tests, it is first plugged into a socket so that the battery is fully charged. The power supply connection is concealed behind a cover. Opening this reveals the corresponding slot. With regard to the carrying handle, it is noticeable during use that it protrudes significantly less from the housing on this model than on the WYBOT C1. This makes it a little more awkward to grasp.
Due to current sand residues in the pool, we have also used the fine dust filter, which ensures more thorough filtration. However, if you only want to remove larger impurities, then the fine dust filter can also be omitted – so whether you use it depends on the water quality or the degree of contamination in the pool. First start the WYBOT C2 Vision by pressing the power button, then select the relevant cleaning pattern in the app – and off you go into the cool water!
Cleaning the floor
Once at the bottom, the pool robot follows its predefined paths. In our case, the S pattern has proven itself, but the star pattern also achieves solid results. However, navigation is generally more confident with the former, which proves to be advantageous in a circular pool. In terms of speed, the C2 Vision, like the C1, moves at a decent pace. As a result, the C2 Vision hardly whirls up any particles, which are instead carefully sucked into the filter basket by its two roller brushes. The powerful fan on the top of the pool robot is particularly noticeable during cleaning. This results in a movement of the water surface, at least directly above the pool robot itself. So it’s fair to say that the WYBOT C2 Vision has plenty of steam under the hood.
Summing up the floor cleaning test runs to date, it should be noted that the results were predominantly positive. While the use of the ultra-fine filter ensured a significant reduction in sand deposits, various insects and leaf residues could be collected without any problems even without it. Any open dirt stains, which the predecessor model C1 tended to overlook, were significantly less or even non-existent per cleaning process. On the other hand, the WYBOT C2 Vision spontaneously wanted to “hug” the pool ladder before driving around it.
Cleaning the wall
We already liked the test result of the C1 without any restrictions – the same applies to the successor model, the WYBOT C2 Vision. A total of three variants are available for the routes: the H, N and V pattern. In terms of thoroughness, the N pattern scored best, whereas the H pattern has a slightly faster speed. The thorough cleaning of the waterline is also remarkable, for which the large roller brushes are largely responsible. In this respect, the brush of the pool robot protrudes further out, which means that dirt accumulated by waves is removed safely even at different water levels.
Apart from the different cleaning patterns, the WYBOT C2 Vision hardly differs from other pool robots in its approach. Compared to other models, however, it climbs the side walls quite quickly without losing any of its effectiveness. Consequently, it can be said that the WYBOT C2 Vision performs reliably when cleaning the walls of our circular pool.
Cleaning
- Filter basket is easy to remove and can be opened from above
- Cleaning with a garden hose is quick and easy
To clean the pool robot, pull the bracket on the back upwards, which opens the housing cover. This reveals the filter basket, which can also be removed. A positive new feature of the WYBOT C2 Vision is that the cover flap has been repositioned at the top. For comparison: With the WYBOT C1, the filter basket had to be opened from below, where all kinds of debris stuck directly to it.
Now rinse the filter basket thoroughly with the garden hose and then reinsert it into the WYBOT C2 Vision in reverse order. If necessary, the fine dust filter or the other Velcro inserts can also be cleaned at the same time. Finally, close the housing cover again so that the next cleaning tour can begin. All in all, the WYBOT C2 Vision is strongly oriented towards the previous cleaning concept of pool robots, which has been established for a long time.
WYBOT C2 Vision test: Conclusion
In conclusion, it can be said that the WYBOT C2 Vision was convincing in the test. Like its predecessor, the pool robot scores with its ease of use and particularly robust design. The higher cleaning performance also stands out positively, as the new ultra-fine filter binds more particles in the water. Pool owners with a sand filter system are particularly likely to benefit from this. Furthermore, the automatic parking function at the edge of the pool worked very well in the test and the results of the new AI vision camera are also impressive. However, it should be noted that the camera needs a few tests to fine-tune the cleaning process – the first test runs were rather mixed. In this respect, it is fair to say that the cleaning pattern of the pool robot is constantly improving and that it is continuously evolving in “dirt hunting” mode.
In terms of operation, however, the WYBOT C2 Vision still has potential for optimization. If you look at the various cleaning modes in combination with the app, it would make more sense to install physical controls for the most important modes. Without the app, only part of the range of functions is available. Other brand products currently manage this balancing act between app and basic functionality better. In addition, the price between the previous C1 and the regular C2 or C2 Vision has continued to rise.
The AI Vision camera in particular naturally contributes a large part to the higher purchase price. Whether you need such convenient functions as quick floor cleaning for a spontaneous visit to the pool or would rather choose the regular C2 is something you should consider personally. In summary, it can be said that the WYBOT C2 Vision lives up to its promise and at the end of the day the pool always shines streak-free.
VORTEILE
- Powerful cleaning performance
- AI mode ensures targeted dirt removal
- Ultra-fine filter for better dirt extraction
- Pleasantly light to transport
NACHTEILE
- Higher purchase price
- Carrying handle a little too flat
- Full functionality only through app use
Fazit
The WYBOT C2 Vision is a successful further development of the C1. The cleaning performance has been improved and, thanks to the use of AI and an ultra-fine filter, even the smallest particles on the floor and walls no longer stand a chance. However, this upgrade is accompanied by a higher purchase price.
